How did we allow that? One long ball that nobody challenged and then we just backed off all the way into the box

    What a strike!

Thought it was a bit of a lazy start to the game from us. Not at it.

Origi dicking around with the ball and losing when there was an overlap about summed up the start.

One game closer to Alisson being back.

Too pedestrian of a start from Liverpool, punished now.

    Alisson wouldn't have saved that!

    Has Mane touched the ball?

Must say I hate these early games.

It looked like Adrian had no chance, but he actually gave himself no chance by going with his right hand instead of his left. Angle behind the goals shows this.
    He’s a donkey of a keeper.

TAA is leaving a lot of space down the right when he drifts into the centre

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,564 ✭✭✭RugbyLover123

Why doesn’t Adrian go at that with his left hand instead of his right.

Newcastle have set up very well so far, no space between their lines. Could be a long day now they’ve got their goal.

Don’t get not starting Bobby, get the goals then rest the players not be chasing games

Do people seriously expect us to keep clean sheets in every game?

Teams will score against us sometimes, plenty of time left. They can do this.

    A Dan James style finish

Yes I did, and I found having pops at Adrian and Origii for the goal were ridiculous.

    Playing better now.

Because every time a team scores against us a scapegoat is sought.

Sometimes a team just scores a good goal against us just like we do plenty of times against opposition.

The "lads" can't get over that a sub keeper isn't the standard of Alisson.

Have to agree when we score we don’t look for someone to blame on the opposition

It's frustrating when we concerns to the first shot on target. That used to always happen in the mignolet days.

Pressing better now tho. Goals has woken them up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,671 ✭✭✭The Rooster

Was just thinking an early kickoff means it’s a must start for one of Hendo and Milner to stop any hint of lackadaisical play. But in fairness to the 3 mids, each have them have upped the tempo and we’re playing better now.

For some reason all keepers do that, I'm sure they know best though

That’s exactly what it’s like...although Adrian seems to be getting a pass.

Ox is really trying but not working for him.

So much for lallana in the six if fab is barely off the plane and still starting

If shaq can't get picked for an early home game against Newcastle after int break where he was not playing I'm not sure klopp is going to start him in any pl game

The finish was a good goal, yes, but they got in to the position of scoring a good goal because of bad play. Do you reckon on Monday when they are going over the video analysis, klopp will just shrug and go "ah well, it was a good goal, nothing we could have done about it"? Or will he look a couple of phases back when we had the ball near the edge of the Newcastle box with an overlap which should have turned in to a chance of some sort and identify it as bad play?

Just found a working stream having got in late and I can only say "sack everyone".

They appear to be playing at half speed.

Getting a little frustrated with our only tactic being Matip lashing it at Mane and hoping he does something

Because the opposition mistake are of no concern maybe? It's up to your own player to capitalise on the opposition issues. That's what makes good players. The idea is to minimise your own mistakes to stop them capitalising. You do that by aking the right choices with the ball.

    Lovely ball by fab

Yeah, you wouldn't be bothered with those 11 lads playing you, would you?

Of course they will analyse it and try and learn from it but it's going to happen.

They are not robots and are playing against able players who are also doing their best.
You can't expect the players to get every move 100% right in 100% of the time and that's what people seem to expect here.

I wouldn't say the goal today was conceded through really bad Liverpool play.
