Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VAR working well for situations like that. The rest of it is a sh*t show

It is great for black and white situations like offside and hands balls anything else its just not working as they don't want to over rule the ref on the field

Tyler actually seems to suggest the ref should let it slide even when faced with a black and white.

How the **** would he explain that to his superiors?

I still don't get this hate for Tyler and it's not just our fan base, some Utd and gunner supporters feel the same.

Need to respond better than we did last time we went 2-0 against Chelsea.

The offside was a clear one, not even up for debate, unless you're Martin Tyler .

Now, I absolutely didn't see it in real time and I was just gutted for conceding.

So only obvious with the tech.

Was happy to see Carra disagree with Tyler on the commentary about the VAR offside. A lot of pundits are being very negative about VAR but the issue, if there is one, is with the rule, not with the VAR here.

Like Carra said, now we have consistency. Should the rule be changed? That's a different conversation but it's not a VAR issue in this instance.

Tyler raging that the goal was ruled out, he hasn't shut up about it since, even though we added another one since. :D Get over it, Martin.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

So Tyler now says VAR is taking away more than it's giving because it ruled out a pedantic offside goal.

Offside is offside, there's no pedantry involved.

My God, the VAR and subsequent second goal has broke Tyler hasn’t it?

But that is no different than last year, when we'd see it was offside in a replay, but the info would never get to the Ref.

    Ref got the info.

Tyler still going on about it, WTF
Still saying it is harsh, taking away a goal from the game.

For some reason our defense has been a bit gank this season. Hardly any clean sheets and you wouldn't back us to get one today.

But we've looked more or less brilliant in most respects regardless. And it's not like you can individually pick out poor performers at the back, especially as the weeks have gone on.

I wonder is it the disruption of losing Allison, some deliberate loosening of the game to focus a little more on scoring, or what's the deal.

Tyler going on about pedantic offsides?????

My God, I think we need to all be savouring the bitterness.

So he is insinuating that maybe you should be allowed to be a certain amount offside to keep the spirit of the game???

Does he have any self awareness?

Why is Martin Tyler arguing that Chelsea's offside goal should be allowed because how dare VAR correctly point out that's offside.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 921 ✭✭✭The Good Ole Boys

Yeah, just drink in the Tyler nonsense.

At this point I'd almost take Beglin over Tyler....

Great touch from Salah there to cut inside, he'll have that space all game against Alonso.

Tyler seems to be suggesting that the VAR offside line may not be correct?

I thought it was open knowledge that he's a United fan?

Next time he does a utd game just search Twitter or Facebook, he's always trending as being anti Utd but I'd wager he's anti every team according to social media.

And it's not like it disrupted the game. It took all of 20 seconds to sort out.

The only reason you could have for being annoyed is if you just personally lost out from a decision, but tough ****.

There's been plenty of goals scored where theyve gone off to celebrate and only then realise that the lino raised his flag.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Turning into a very sweet day.

A couple of Salah goals to annoy Chelsea fines would round it off, preferably with VAR missing a handball or off side.

The call wasn't even marginal you'd see linesmen flagging that in the past. Offside is offside it's the one thing VAR should be consistent on.
