Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In fairness, Klopp put a CM at LB for a year :pac:

That's a mad team alright. Not one Man City player either.

It seems a bit like the Pogba inclusion in the PL team last season. Throw in an undeserving name to generate a bit of discussion online.

Oh fcuking hell the full voter breakdown literally has Dani Alves ahead of Trent and Andy

Glen Johnson as number 6 attacker is taking the biscuit

De Gea ahead of Ederson? I mean, its 2019, not 2016.

Nah, these things pander to lads who follow football only to see carefully edited YouTube compilations of the 'world's greatest' soundtracked to risible Eurotrash disco. I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

    Busquets at 5?

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Who votes btw? I'm presuming it's an online type job. They are generally a bit mad anyway.

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Ahead of Bernardo Silva, it really is bonkers. Must have a snoop at Blue Moon

Anyway, fair play to the 3 lads, on to MK Dons

Also a little annoyed Fabinho isn't even in the top 10 midfielders.

He didn't start for a few months. The only reason I can think of.

    How are these winners chosen?

    Do players and coaches vote?

Team of the year is voted only by the players, the individual awards are voted on by national team captains and coaches, journalists and fans.

Why are Casillas, Iniesta & Dani Alves not in the team too? Some lads in there and you are thinking did I wake up in 2016?

Laporte, Bernando, Sterling, TAA, Robertson, Mane and a few more players will be wondering what they will have to do. It's voted on the European calendar season!!

Infantino talks about kicking racism out of football and then proceeds to not award player of the year to deserving coloured player.

Was a frequent user of the term myself happy in the knowledge I was being PC until I was corrected one day in person and did a little research.

Bernardo and Kante would have been my picks for midfield instead of Hazard and Modric. Cancelo and Robbo for the RB and LB. Can't really argue about the front three.

We've the #1 Goalkeeper in the world, three of the top 7 defenders in the world, three of the top 11 forwards in the world are our current front three (two former players Suarez and Sterling are also in the top 11) and we've the #1 manager in the world.

Not too shabby by anyone's definition!!

I'm glad they finished ahead of Roberto Carlos & Cafu.
Poor Tadic, I know he is technically a false no.9 but after the season he had finishing 15th below Pogba, Vidal, Kroos, Busquets & all there based on 2015.

Lads voting probably thought Tadic was still at Southampton.

That's an awful selection, Laporte isn't even in the ranking. Alves before Trent and Robbo. Hazard is now a midfielder apparently. Don't know how Bernardo Silva isn't in the XI. No chance mbappe had a better season than Mane.

Both Mane and Mbappe had better seasons than Ronaldo but they wouldn't dare not include him.

The Guardian reporting that the Kick it Out have written to City about the tweet and that the FA are involved so Silva could get a 6 game ban which would mean he could miss the game against Liverpool.

Not a chance of that happening, it'll be a talking to (Raheem Sterling might be the man to ask!) and a written warning to remind everyone to be more careful with their social media.

As for the Nike deal I see Man Utd are getting about 80m a year from the deal they inked before their decline became embedded which given the upward trajectory of Liverpool should be at least matched.

Being the FIFA world awards, do they ever recognize anyone playing anywhere in any other non-european league?

It's obviously good financially, but i'm going to miss the New Balance gear. They brought out some lovely stuff and the home jerseys over the last few years have been some of the nicest we've had.

In before " dur dur, does it matter?'

It matters a little to me, I think Nike kits are trash.

The women's awards tend to a little more, Rapinoe won Women's POTY.

Been a big fan of New Balance, I really do believe this is one of the best jerseys we've ever had

    Definitely have.

Started out like pro evo kits but the 13/14, 16/17 til now have all been really nice home kits.

Some of the black kits they brought out have been really nice too.

There's been some mad away kits, but the away ones in the Klopp era have been class.

I've loved the purple and orange ones over the last couple of years. Alisson's black jersey this season is unreal.

But the home ones have been absolutely beautiful.

I didn't think NB would go that high to a billion over 10 years the kit must be a huge seller for them.
