Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Liverpool and paperwork eh?

    Need a better fax machine

If we're not kicked out we'll have to resort to losing in the first round (or whatever round we enter, semi-final?) as usual
They should just combine this with the Europa League and fire them into space

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,746 ✭✭✭BullBlackNova

Just wait until the Europa Conference has started. Winners of the League Cup qualify for that (unless its won by City again, in which in case it filters down the league). Can't see even the slightest bit of interest there.

Maybe Everton might finally get into Europe?

the what? it's like every year they make up something new to drain money out of people

Third European competition, announced by UEFA this week.

They'll argue that its to broaden European competition for teams from smaller nations - the top 5 countries will only have one spot, apparently, whereas Scotland etc will have 3/4 - but, in reality, its just going to result in the Champions League being a closed shop for the top teams.

Scandalous for teams to not be kicked out of knockout competitions for fielding ineligible players. If it was a league game it’d be 3-0 to the other team.

And yet apparently there’s a precedent that it will just be a fine.

I always think that the mad thing is how long after it takes for it to be realised. Surely during the game the organisers should know that an illegible player was on the pitch. It was on Sky Main Event.

Both Liverpool and the competition organisers should know well in advance of the game the list of players that can be used.

I'd agree that teams breaking the rules should be disqualified. But it should happen straight away and not after the game has been played and next round draw concluded

You’re right. Think the authorities just work off a ‘well it’s upto the club to know’ policy.

Origi back on the bench already. No place for Keita.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Keita is being managed - 60 mins was the plan for Mk Dons and then rest and training. No need to rush him back after all. Klopp says it's Nov-Jan they want the squad at it's most fighting fit.

Game is on BT. Can anyone pm me an alternative viewing option. Thanks

I really like the way Klopp plays his strongest eleven nearly every match when he can.

That was a big gripe with Rafa. He was forever chopping and changing with his squad rotation.

    The dreaded early kick off.

Ball given away as the ref is wearing same colour of shorts and socks as Liverpool

Henderson no clue what to do with Alexander Arnold’s pass.

They aren't pressing the centre halves instead both forwards are standing either side of Fabinho so Henderson & Wijnaldum need to do more. One of those games where it feels like we're bypassing our midfield so far.

Sheffield utd up for the fight in fairness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Everything quite central, would like to see Mane and Salah hugging the touchline, give an option for midfield to get the ball to their feet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,067 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

Trent giving the ball away every time he gets it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Alexander Arnold has played some great passes for them so far.

Bit like an old school 3rd round away tie in the FA Cup. Sheffield Utd really up for it and flying into tackles. Crowd baying for decisions.

That stamp on Salah was deliberate.

    Jesus Sadio. What a chance.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Jesus, how did he not even work the goalie

    Jasus Sadio what a miss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Probably should’ve tried pass it to Salah.

    Ah Mané....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,983 ✭✭✭✭NukaCola

Really poor in the final third, too passive and too slow in the build up....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,288 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

Where is the ref to hurry up Sheff Utd like they were doing last week with Liverpool?

Mane is too narrow, Salah isn't tracking back. Firmino is not getting any ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

    For flips sake Sadio.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Mane is too narrow, Salah isn't tracking back. Firmino is not getting any ball.

Salah was behind Trent there for a minute when we had possession. Technically its Henderson who should be covering but he is running around pointing & doing little when he has possession. It's not been a particularly good performance by Wijnaldum either as Fabinho is being market closely as hes the best passer in the midfield.
    Another sitter missed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Need to get Ox on. Need a bit of guile in there, or bring Origi on for Gini and let Firmino drop into Gini's role so he can get on ball.

Tried to walk it in there.

    Awful from front three

How was Mane not scored. 2 massive chances and a totally different game if we lead at HT.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Firmino should have left that one.

That would Bee awful if that happened.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Was always going to be a tough game but doesn’t help when you miss two sitters.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

Another example of the opposition benefiting because we played the ball when they had a player offside.

Wtf is the ref waving get up there first?

Clearly Fabinho had just fallen awkwardly.
