Really dying to hear the criticism of Salah’s mentality once more after digging us out of a hole yet again tonight.

Strange nobody was around to say he’s ‘shook’ tonight.

The neutrals must be fuming, hammering the backspaces right now.

    Ah stop.

They’ll just close the tabs, much quicker. :D

    Enjoyed that game.

2nd half watched from behind the couch :pac:

Gomez pretty poor all night.I know he needs games but he stood off way too often.

Hope the scouting department keep an eye on Hwang & Minamino.

Good Asian players for Asian money is all that missing now there is an Irish lad in the squad.

So there I was opining out loud the other day about how I missed the old Alberto level stupid Liverpool with their comedy 4-3 stylings, well tonight has shown me to be a thoroughgoing fool. That capitulation to 3-3 was appalling in every respect, even right into injury time they were ignoring basic game management and taking needless risks with long raking passes that either stick (10% chance) or immediately set the opposition on their way (90% chance).

Klopp should bellow the feck out of them all night.

(also might be worth having a closer look at that Minamino fella in googles)

Our naivety, game man management was shocking for long periods.

    Glad they came through it.

I really thought there might have been a hcnace to give others gametime (by choice!) At 3-0.

Can only hope normal service is resumes on sat m

Said it before I do not want Liverpool going to Austria needing a result to go through in the group

Gomez all over the shop but really poor at the back overall.....we haven't been at our best defensively but tonight was a different level, very LFC 2016....at least we got over the line anyway, first half was incredible and showed great resilience to go back in front at 3-3, another team may have crumbled. Positives and negatives but most importantly right now, 3 points.

    On to Leicester now....

That Hwang lad was something else.

Crouch talking some shîte, “you have to look at who they played this season (Liverpool) this is their first big game and it was tough”

Gomez definitely not at the races tonight.

That Hwang lad was something else.

Really hope Roma or Southampton sign him, I’d love to see him develop into another world class Liverpool forward.

    Did I say that?

It's important to get three points.

First half hour performance was fantastic and deserves praise that's all I'm saying.

Of course conceding three goals is poor but they did well since then.

Management is not always about bollocking people you know?

Your right it not but sometimes you just have to as Liverpool regardless of the wins have been very lax in defending and something has to be said

missing the world's greatest gk and the second best CB will affect your defence, who'd have known. We're getting to the stage where even when we win we're unhappy. awesome

Delighted with that attacking performance. Front 3 will all have walked off with confidence levels high.

Defensive mistakes (from defenders and midfielders) will be rectified.

Great subs by Klopp. Great control by the team when 4-3 up.

This is a good day. 3 points. Back in control of group.

I thought Gomez improved a lot 2nd half, he was brutal in first half, actually played well last 20 minutes.

We're a shambles defensively going into the Leicester game. Gomez, Henderson & Wijnaldum were absolute headless chickens playing. Back 5 all had their shakey moments, Van Dijk included.
Happy with 3 points but not the most professional performances by us.

Fab playing on his own in midfield for 65 minutes till Milner came on was bloody impressive.

What's with Henderson playing as an auxiliary right wing? Is that were Klopp wants him to play or was he taking the initiative to offer TAA more protection?

It's the CL, it's not suppose to be easy. It's suppose to be hard.

A bit surprised the fake accounts didn't turn up when it hit 3 - 3 to tell us how embarrassed they feel or have a go at the Brazilians.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

It's the same most weeks, Henderson thinks he's Gerrard playing up top with Torres & forgets he's to defend. Wijnaldum does absolutely disappear at times its infuriating to ask where he is as it shows he's doing nothing.
We must have allowed an Arsenal amount of shots today.

Probably either a bit superstitious or watching the soaps.

Terrible decision who ever it was came up tonight.

I can see the idea that TAA needs protection but it should not be Henderson doing it.

Let's give them mad barstards some credit..unreal energy and commitment..and quality.

Hendo had a shocker, his worst game for us I think.

Elsewhere, 2 unreal goals from Suarez tonight.

Up front we looked back to our slick best, only missing a Bobby goal, at the back, not so much, so many sloppy passes putting us in trouble time and again. Need to tighten up Saturday but doubt we'd approach a game in the league as we did that second half.

Keita looked decent when he came on hopefully he gets up to full match fitness soon he offers that something different Gini and Henderson don't in attack.

Origi was bloody fantastic when he came on

There’s a top class player in there if he can stay fit for a few months at a time. His talent is very clear to see.

Obviously a very sloppy performance but we certainly sorted ourselves out after 3 - 3. Would have lost this game two years ago, don’t forget that!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,665 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

So sloppy, really lazy once went 3 up, but in fairness reacted well when they equalised. Sloppy passing, right hand side very poor in Hendo and Gomez in the first half especially. We normally control those situations well, at least over the last year or so we've improved at it, but looked like the concentration dropped and nearly got caught out.
Might be a kick in the hole.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,577 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

It makes winning the CL all the more sweet, it's not easy to play these type of games, let alone go all the way and win the competition.
3 points on the board, Napoli dropped 2pts, game on.

Nah we drew with Sevilla in the exact same circumstances a few years ago. Back when we absolutely couldn't defend for toffee.
Gomez very much looked like a lad who hasn't played in 11 months. He was running his mouth about wanting more first team football to help his England chances last week & fair failed his first team audition tonight. He should concentrate more on contributing at Liverpool & less about playing against arsehole of nowhere teams in qualifiers for Euro 2020

Wasn't expecting Napoli to drop points. No easy games in this group. Great night for Liverpool. 3 points. Lots to work on and lots to be happy with.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,755 ✭✭✭giveitholly

So how do we want the double header between Napoli and salzburg to go? One team to win both matches or would two draws suit us,should be on 9 points ourselves by the time Napoli come to Anfield

There should be easy games but when you’re making hard work of it like tonight and losing to second rate teams like Napoli there aren’t.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,215 ✭✭✭shamrock55

Virgil was poor because he was trying to cover gomez half the night and fab left space in behind him because he was running around trying to cover gini and hendo

    Napoli, second rate?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,215 ✭✭✭shamrock55

Napoli are far from 2nd rate, they are an excellent side particularly at home

The only thing I know is that beating Gent/Genk home and away is requisite. RBS can clearly take points off Napoli but equally you'd not want to bet on them doing so.

I can't not include this celebration:

The flick from Firmino here is so good:

    giphy.gifgiphy.gif

There's no two ways about it this is amateur stuff from Gomez:

    giphy.gif

    Andy defending:

    giphy.gif

Fab was the one consistently good player in midfield tonight:

    giphy.gifgiphy.gif

God knows how Mane missed this:

    giphy.gif

Origi really good again, as soon as he came on he was winning challenges like this and relieving pressure, I'm into this set up with him playing alongside the front 3 having Firmino drop a little deeper:
