Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Virgin Media Sport but the chat beforehand is driving me nuts. Angry must be my new default position

Virgin Media One (aka the old TV3) have it on the TV listings at 7.30. So it is free to air despite their 4th rate commentary team

Liverpool: Adrian, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mane, Salah.

Subs: Lonergan, Kelleher, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Lallana, Shaqiri, Brewster, Origi, Hoever, Alexander-Arnold, Elliott.

Is that Ox on the wing or a 4-4-2? Should be good....

    Where is bobby?

    Where is bobby?

bench, his second name is Firminho. Fun Bobby is a stage name

Brian just said Firmino was poor at the weekend. I think Brian might of judged that going by the scoresheet rather than actually watching the game.

I'd imagine he didn't even look at the scoresheet, just entirely based it off the fact he started the weekend and is on the bench now.

Ultimately the PSG project hasn't really worked.

On the field it hasn't done what they hoped yet - but on the field is only a means to an end off the field. By all accounts the club's goal is to become a globally dominant cross-platform brand, rather than necessarily just aiming for football success, and that's on its way to happening. Apparently PSG gear/fashion/apparel is actually really popular with kids around Europe, and the PSG brand is just seen as a cool lifestyle thing in and of itself. Which sort of hurts my soul a little bit.

Will we wear our Champions League patches tonight? Wanna see the 6 on the sleeve.

Yes it is a European game so Liverpool will be wearing the badge of honour

I don't think it is, there are more players allowed on the bench in this game than in any league game so we're just padding it out, you can have 7 in most games so that'd look more like this:

Subs: Lonergan, Kelleher, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Lallana, Shaqiri, Brewster, Origi, Hoever, Alexander-Arnold, Elliott.

So Lonergan, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Lallana, Shaqiri, Origi, Alexander-Arnold. About as good as any bench outside of Man City if you ask me.

That is why I am really surprised they haven't tried to sign Pogba he fits that whole marketing plan.

Nothing new from him, hes a total spoofer.

Whats the craic with subs tonight, is it normal rules, or like the Community Shield where they allowed 6?

Completely disagree, you won't get many more knowledgable pundits tbh.

Pretty easy to pick out the Irish official.

    Does Kerr post on here?

He would fit in with the couple of posters on here that don't rate Bobby.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 14,715 Mod ✭✭✭✭Dcully

Anytime I've listened to him he comes across as the very opposite.
Hrs totally wrong about firmino I've often heard him spout the same about other players when it's clear he's making comments for the sake of it with no evidence whatsoever ie a total spoofer

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Kerr's usually alright when he's talking about a game he's actually watched at least.

Just checked 'cos it was wrecking me head too - they're allowed 3 in normal time and an additional sub in extra time.

I like Mane through the middle over Salah

I remember Kerr being very funny in commentary, didn't he say one of the Spurs players was about as quick as his granny in the final?

This takes me back to the days we used to win European Cups on a Wednesday and I'd have to scramble for an excuse not to go into work on Thursday

I'll give him that he's funny.

HAND BALL under the European Var rule.
Not given, and that is the problem, no consistency

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,502 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

Stonewall penalty, according to UEFA’s interpretation of the handball rule.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,294 ✭✭✭✭citytillidie

VAR would have given a free kick for high foot no doubt

Red card too, since it’s Mane.

Exactly what i was thinking. I don't agree that it should be a penalty, but by the UEFA competition rules, surely it should have been given, especially when she gave a handball against VVD minutes before which was completely accidental.

I'm hoping this marks a change in how they're judging these things this year... something like that should never ever be a penalty.

As long as they’re consistent with it. That’s the important thing. Give them all or give none, preferably the latter though.

Weird, some of the ball was clearly on the line for the corner, but the lines woman was not happy, wanted half the ball on the line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,037 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

Cracking quick pass from Salah, and first time ball from Hendo, and back post run from Mane... very well blocked out from Christiansen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,502 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

    That pass from Ox...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

Interesting to see Hendo is the man making the runs right to the line and Gomez is staying home.

Still don't look comfortable at the back and that goalkeeping by Adrian of punching it straight out in front of himself doesn't help matters either.

I'd say it's just nerves and not properly knowing your new teamates I hope...
