Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Finally, the match winner is coming on.

Stick Lonergan on if it gets close to pens.

    Caoimhin Kelleherget grame now?

    With a broken wrist?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

Because he wasn't even fit enough to start a few days ago and just played 100 minutes.

He looks far fitter than our midfield or the lad in goals.

Does our defence realise this isn't preseason anymore!?

    mental VAR decision....

Adrian is grand lads, not a vintage performance but as a backup he’ll do grand. You get used to having the best keeper in the world playing like.

Chelsea dont even have to pass through our midfield you can just walk through it.
    Why is Mane coming off???

Because he's just gone straight into 100 minutes after missing all of preseason.

I'd like to see the other angle on the VAR replay??? did he even touch him.??

Looked like there was the barest contact alright... nowhere near enough to floor him, but contact is contact. I'd say it's hard to overrule the ref when there was any sort of a touch. Equally, I bet if she hadn't given the pen, VAR wouldn't have overruled that either.

Big Div on! Come on fella!

So it just goes down as a really bad decision by the ref?

To be fair we deserve to be losing

Between this and the Norwich game I reckon we've conceded over a dozen really good chances and that might be a conservative estimate.

It's not a clear and obvious error from the ref, that's why it was allowed to stand. To be honest, forget VAR i'm raging at the idiocy of Adrian.

Probably because he never even got to rest enough to lose fitness over a whole summer of Afcon in insane temperatures. Definitely good to err on the safe side rather than risk injury from overplaying him.

How? We didn't see what they saw.

Why did Adrian give the ref the question is what I want to know.

Do these jerseys change colour when they are wet/sweaty? What happened to dry wicking material?

Not like we need a starter for the next few weeks anyway. He looks a turkey to be honest.

Souness says this is the worst defensive game from Liverpool since Klopp has arrived... Has he already forgotten what we looked like starting Skrtel and Toure?

    Diving rewarded.

Yeah, thats my point... that the bit of contact meant they wouldn't overrule her because that would stop it from being a clear and obvious mistake. But equally, if she hadn't given it, the contact was slight enough that they'd not have overruled that as a clear and obvious error either. Just one of those close ones that "you see given".

    That is never a pen

Matip has been our best defender in 2019.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    Why’s Mane starting?

Why’s Mane playing the extra time?

    Why’s Mane being taken off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,692 ✭✭✭✭machiavellianme

Seeing the other angle, definitely not a penalty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,388 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Just showed another angle from the far side line and Adrian hasn't touched him.

Yeah, it's some drop off from Alisson. You can't expect to have a goalkeeper as good or even slightly less good than Alisson willing to spend time on the bench. It's a weird position to cover.

I'd say Adrian is better than Mignolet in terms of his feet and the way we play the game, but he is as average as Mignolet was.

As i said, it's a weird position to cover because it's so specialised.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Well I think that proves VAR doesn't work.

Looking at the replay Adrian did really well

    they looked wrecked.

    7 cups .

    looks like 2 enough

It’s not about contact it’s about posing the question.

Well this is far from ideal. 120 minutes 1.5 weeks into the season.

Chelsea getting away with a lot of fouls

Well I think that proves VAR doesn't work.

It's still a human making a decision at the end. It's not automated like Hawkeye.

And a clear goal scoring opportunity. He was going nowhere and took a dive.
    Unfortunately the ref bought it.

fab a great game . Hendo not so.

Why bother even asking Gomez to bring it forward, just leave him back so he doesn't get caught out of position.

    Will this game ever end....

Players are absolutely put on their feet.

Would absolutely prefer to lose this versus a muscle injury for a player.
