Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On to the world club cup now and be champions of the world.

To be fair Frank Lampard's Chelsea played really well.

Seems a bit mental that the Southampton game wasn’t put back until Sunday. The Premier league really don’t believe in helping their teams that play in Europe.

    It kinda does.

Don't get me wrong. I celebrate five aside wins.

    But let's not overegg it.

Happy we won it but we needed to in order the make the team selection worthwhile. Lampard paid the right amount of respect to the cup based on his subs; Klopp on the other gave 120 minutes to the likes of Fabinho, VVD, Salah, Matip, Hendo and more or less Mane. Mental.

They really don't, they did us a favour by giving us Friday night but Chelsea had to play United on Sunday before this game.

Far more composed than I expected, especially from Salah who almost always just smashes them as hard as he can.

Think he's been practicing to be honest, took an excellent one against City, and another great one today.

Club World Cup I'm actually excited for, it's just such a novelty to get to face teams from outside Europe.

Hendo went for his tried and trusted trophy lifting technique. Quick jog on the spot followed by vigorous lift.

Plus it’s two games to win another trophy, as opposed to the LC with lots of games (and not much financial reward either).

I personally believe Adrian brought down Abraham but as Robertson would say "who give a wee shyte"

Christ, Souness still going mad about Liverpool playing a high line because when he was a player he was taught not to do that.

Do we think we're experimenting with a higher line, because it seems like opposition players are getting behind us much easier

It’s a bit like crickets use of replay/Hawkeye. If the ref didn’t give it, VAR wouldn’t have given it. But as the ref gave it, and they believed there wasn’t enough to overturn (although I thought there was), it stood.

That’s our tenth European trophy. A properly unbearable team would count them all from now on.

Makes sense really I guess though, since the Super Cup follows the official competitive Fifa/Uefa rules, while the Community shield doesn't - 6 subs for instance.

Are we unbearable or insufferable...feel everyone needs to be on the same page here. Maybe a mod could stick up a poll.

It should be Monday. Regardless of it being on Sky Sports or not. Same as how Chelsea shouldn't have played Sunday. 2 days extra rest can make all the difference for players recovering fitness.

Maybe they should rename it to the English Super Cup? It’s very much an English thing though, maybe because it’s always been the charity/community shield (not Cup/Trophy)?
My Spanish/Italian mates always count their Super Cup as a trophy.
