Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Good to see Ox start.

People say he needs game minutes so can't complain when he gets them.

Especially in midfield. Hopefully he can get back to his best asap.

I think it is important for his confidence to get Chamberlain back out on the pitch today. Being taken off at half time is never nice.

Clearly needs minutes just not as a starter on the evidence of Wednesday, also the front three starting means no game changer to spring forth, yes I know Origi is there :D But I'd have gone with him plus two and give Mane 30-35 minutes. I know he doesn't do tired but nothing wrong with being circumspect.

    Gonna be a tough game

Not happy for OxCham to start this when Shaqiri and Lallana are on the bench (Fabby/Hendo probably need a rest after Chelsea)

Well with Keita having his problems he needs to get the Ox up to scratch ASAP. He could give Shaq or Lallana a run but then again they're not going to be potential guaranteed starters like Chamberlain all going well.

Glad Long and his pace and liking of goals against Liverpool isn't playing or on the bench for Southampton.

Expecting us to hit the ground running, get 3 goals up and bring in the subs then.
Or a sloppy 0-1 would do fine too.
3 points and no injuries please.

Major boost that our least worst keeper is fit.

I think normally Liverpool would win this at a canter and it just depends how they have recovered and prepared since Wednesday.

Free header for Yoshida. Saved by Adrian.

  • Registered Users Posts: 956 ✭✭✭internelligent

    Adrian's distribution is questionable

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Great save by Adrian. But his kicking is not good at all. Keeps giving it away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,928 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Is the game on TV anywhere in Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,395 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

This is going as expected. We look flat. Southampton well up for it.

Any kind of win will have to be dug out today.

Just realised, Milner must be getting close to 50 league appearances in protective headwear at this stage. He’s surely the record holder at least. :D

Adrian and the high line against Arsenals front line next week is going to be edge of the couch stuff.

This has been dire so far.

    Petr Cech begs to differ.

Here come the ‘I’d take any win and a sh!te performance’ complaining about the performance posts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,501 ✭✭✭✭martyos121

High line clearly only works with Gomez in there alongside Virgil, Matip isn’t slow but he’s not on the same planet as the other two in terms of pace. They’ve targeted him with some success so far, exposing his one real weakness because he’s superb when we set up to defend a little deeper.

I can’t see us getting more than a point from this unless we change our entire setup in the second half. Dire performance but it’s not hugely surprising after Istanbul three days ago.

Not bad. But hasn’t gotten forward much to affect games.

    No

Roughly been the same as the 3 others in defence.
This has been putrid to watch tho.

Pass completion rate must be on the floor. TAA is particularly shoddy.
