Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's only a recent phenomenon that all LFC fans even respect "Mr. Sideways", let alone judge him a legend! Fickle fans can claim whomsoever they want to be a legend, it's the fans that live by YNWA that will remain true legends.

no in my opinion, Henderson captained a fantastic and functioning side to a CL triumph. Steven often dragged a mediocre team through ten years and somehow managed to win one. He had some good players at some times but it's no fluke Torres played the best football of his career ahead of Gerrard. You just can't doubt his importance to the club but hey maybe you can.
Henderson is a captain by the fact he has been there the longest. He's not inspiring on the pitch, but has passion for the club.
He's no Gerrard, a young Gerrard in this side would have won the league last season.

Gerrard is the clubs greatest captain it's not even up for debate. The goals, the one man team performances, an absolute ****house to rival supporters.
A player that deserved to play with the best but never left us.
A travesty he never won a league title.

Steven Gerrard has single handedly rescued Liverpool from loosing matches over the years when he captained the Reds.

Henderson is a good player and puts in 100% in every game but Gerrard was world class back in the day.

Gobsmacked by some here with the regard they hold for stevie, he's the ultimate legend for me, says alot about the fan who thinks otherwise

Just catching up on this now

+1 to all of the above posts, Gerrard was just immense, best player I've seen playing for the club by a fair distance, legend.

99% of fans i'm sure share that opinion, but there's always one or two.....

Handy enough group. Was a bit embarrassing losing to an Italian team last season but hopefully we put it right this year.

That's a great draw for us

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

HArd to see us not beating those 3 at home, and at least one victory away and we'd be through. It's a lovely set of games, no glamour ties, but they can wait for the KO stages.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,561 ✭✭✭Umaro

Happy with that group, though I'm sure we're all a bit sick of playing Napoli.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

At least Shaqiri can travel to all 3 away games this time.

Goal has to be to win the group before December - be interesting to see the fixtures when they come out later - nice dead rubber at home in Dec would be nice...

Yeah can't afford more important games in December with the CWC happening then too.

Tbf Messi and Ronnie are far from clowns, and Burnley are far from mugs, a little respect goes a long way

Bit mad seeing our players being involved in awards like this over the past couple of years. We've come a long way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

This is gas, the Slavia Praha lads laughing when they got announced in same group as Barca, Dortmund and Inter

Also loved Cantona's speech. Kicked it off with a line from King Lear and went madly philosophical. The face of the lad beside Nedved at the end had me properly laughing.

That's what happens when you get lucky draws, play once great teams past their best, get all the decisions and no injuries. People think you're great when you win one Champions League.

Had to edit this to include an emote in case people think I'm serious. Oh god there's no emotes!!!!

Had me in stitches watching it live, but check out the expressions on Messi and Ronaldo at 45secs, priceless!
