i just cant understand how a Liverpool fan (i.e Potential Underachiever) would not like or rate Firmino. Utterly bizarre.

It would be even more bizarre if it was actually true.

It's undeniable how brilliant Firmino is, he's a fantastic and integral part of the team and an all round nice guy seemingly, I'm not quite at the Firmino boxer shorts stage yet though.

Hopefully that can put to bed the ill informed bs you're peddling.

The lad has now walked out on the two best clubs with the two best managers in world football in the space of 15 months.

It's like watching someone's career progression in reverse.

EDIT: Just noticed that Duncan off to Fiorentina

A good article from Pearce in the athletic if anyone wants to read

    Mod: No full articles.

Has it been mentioned that Bobby Duncan is off to Fiorentina for €2m + 20% of any resale (Paul Joyce)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,924 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

    And no buy back clause.

So I guess Pearce is wrong about him having a future at the club.

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets the statement that doesn't wish him well.
Fiorentina is a rough move for a lad seeking first team football, they've lost 2 games already & the change of ownership there has lead to greater expectations.

I'm wondering if they just see him as a Solanke-esque investment - give him a few games and then sell him to a PL/Championship team at a profit

Pandas are only cute because of their fur and markings. You dunk a Koala Bear in water you have a very scary looking animal.
International break isn't annoying me anywhere as near as much as it usually does. What is it this time is it friendlies or that pretend international competition they made up last year?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Ryan Kent off to Rangers for 6 to 7 million apparently.

Sounds like Duncan has been indulged for too long by a number of parties. Best of luck to him but going to Italy is surely going to rough on him.

Surprised at that fee to be honest. Thought Rangers wouldn't have that sort of cash.

2 million for the next (insert underperforming youth striker name here) is pretty damned good I'd say.

If they can win at least 3 of their group games and get out of the group they'll have made that back in prize money alone from the qualification and then group stages of the EL. Apparently a lot of fans were saying he was sorely missed yesterday. Sounds like a fair deal - they made no bones about how they wanted to sign him but couldn't afford the £12-£15m that was being touted and nobody else came looking for him, so the deal was done. Good luck to him, he was never gonna get near first team footie with us...

Think they could only afford him after qualifying for Europa league midweek.

Ojo was very very poor when he came on against Celtic, done nothing but lose the ball.

Kent is the clear missing link the the Rangers attack, Stevie might actually have a chance in Europe now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,924 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

£6/7m for Kent seem like a great deal since the club don't want him and no English teams from The Championship or League One or Two came in for him.

Will be interesting to follow what happens to Bobby Duncan at Fiorentina. It seems a terrible idea for his career to go play in Italy at such a young age. Combine the language barrier and the fact he hasn't broken into first team football yet, means it'll be really difficult for him to get playing time.

The whole thing stinks of people getting in his ear and trying to make as much money out of him as possible. You'd wonder about the envy that having Steven Gerrard in the extended family creates, its probably more toxic than you'd realise for one part of the family to see another part living so well.

I saw the game yesterday. Rangers had the vast majority of the ball, but Defoe was terrible up front, added nothing of value. Overall, it was an extremely low quality game (lower Championship stuff) so Kent will have an opportunity to play and see he if can stand out.

He was brainless. He has pace and some ability, but no idea of how to use it. At 22 years old, he'll be gone next Summer when his contract is up.

Didn't hurt Jadon Sancho. If Duncan is good enough, he'll progress. Odds are against him though.

Hope he does well, I know nothing of Booby Dunking but if he can get his career off to a early start then fair play to him. He was getting no where near Firmino's no9 role.

Lovely little city , the emphasis being on little ,its about the size of Kilkenny .

There’s plenty of references to him being badly advised or people getting in his ear, but maybe he’s just a dick? Plenty of others have people in their ear and families full of expectation and yet avoid this kind of nonsense.

Not sure how likely him breaking in to the Fiorentina side is, but in a league as tight defensively as Serie A coupled with the language barrier, it won’t be easy.

Eriksen on a free would be nice. Matip out of contract in ten months, need to tie him down before some poaches him.

That won't interest our rivals though. To be fair it's not the first transfer window they've made a massive profit but all the focus is on VVD/Keita/Fab etc. Some of the fees they get for unwanted players is astonishing, often clubs just about give players away

What FSG have done with the club is stunning.

Liverpool can't complete financially with Man City, Man U,Chelsea, Madrid, Barca, PSG, Munich, Juve yet they have built one of the strongest top two teams in football on net spend of £68m.

All while expanding the stadium building a new training ground and bringing in record sponsorship deal and making the club self sufficient and not needing a sugar daddy.

Just for comparison that’s one months wages for Alexis Sanchez.

is that before of after his loan to Roma?

Other possible comparators - Pogba's social media income, Luke Shaw's happy meal budget, Jesse Lingard's allowance

I wouldn’t include Juventus on that list. Their transfer business has been astonishing last few years. Actually very similar to how Liverpool have operated.
