Insurance claim

    What would be the general waiting time to hear back from an insurance company?

    Reported an accident on the 9th July (incident happened on the 8th) ......they sent out a damage assessor on the 11th .............have since heard nothing back be it phone or email............or should I be contacting them again?

    Sounds like you're with Principal. Hound them.

    It's not my own insurance the claim is with the other partys....Alwynn insurance

    In that case I'd be pretty relentless until I was satisfied all was in order.

    From googling around the general rule of thumb seems to be 4 weeks......might give it till mid next week to follow up, that would be the 4 weeks

    It is a slow process but i would still call for an update.
