Hey, look over there, it's something completely unrelated to what was just discussed!

No its not. The tax returns have nothing to do with the Presidency and he did release them. He does communicate his agenda by twitter, where as those 30000 emails on a private server......?

Ah I see, you're one of those fanatics immune to truth. You seem to think criticism of Clinton is some response. I couldn't care less if Clinton went to jail for hiding emails. Ivanka and Jared will probably be joining her.

I am not immune to Trumps failings. He has many failings but he was surely a better choice that Jeb Bush, Hillary Clinton, Ted Cruz, any third generation washed out Kennedy or Paul Ryan. He has had a few considerable failures (NFL, Vodka, Steak,Airline, University, Atlantic city). He has also clawed his way back to the top from failures

He's fierce popular over there. It's the rest of the world that doesn't like him. People I know in America love him. And they're not rednecks. It's the media that's clouding our judgement.

He is disrupting the natural order of things by not acknowledging the mainstream media. Didnt he give away the CNN seat at the white house press conference?

He's caused untold amounts of long term damage to the US. His failings will be felt for decades.

Nobody has ever gone into Afghanistan with peaceful intent. China will arrive with flowers like in Tibet but that will quickly change. Chinese have a much lower tolerance of Islam than America

Because like any country they want to be left alone. Govern for themself's. If they pick an ally someone else will side with the opposition. Except in that country it usually means bloodshed.

When it was george bush and obama the concensus was that the US should leave afghanistan , Before the election everyone called donald trump a war monger and now that he’s in office, people detest him so much that they’d rather a war continues just because ‘everything he does has to be wrong’

What kind of clown world are we living in, this is a good thing, its a good thing that they leave , whatever about anything else, just give the guy credit for doing the thing the last 3 presidential terms (2 presidents)should have done.

Come back when he does withdraw. Right now he's just playing to his audience.

If he does he'll deserve credit. But it's all small talk untill then.

I fully support the Chinese decision to go into Afghanistan. G'wan lads, 'ave a butchers. See where Alexander, Britain, Russia and the United States failed in that order.

Except the Chinese will go in with cheque books and projects of mutual benefit, not bombs to destroy everything..and they will keep out of Afghanistan's politics.

Something the ones you list above never had brains enough to try.

That will happen in the run up to the next election. If he does do it, will that change your opinion of him. Do you Judge Nixon for withdrawing from Vietnam?

Soviets tried that approach at the start. They built schools hospitals etc etc. Its the Mullahs that didnt like it as their power was taken away. Look how that ended up.

Best advice from a Soviet commander in Afghanistan to the Americans? "Get out as fast as you can"

In fairness the Soviets got involved in politics..they supported one of the factions there.

It's can see it happening completely differently.

The Chinese will be absolutely brutal if they go in because they don't give a **** about human rights. This includes the rights of their own soldiers.

They'll try to win through sheer numbers and cruelty. It'll send an message to all the other world powers that they aren't to be messed with.

You have to deal with people at some stage. Afghanistan is a country best left to its own devices.

Oh C'mon that's just western "yellow peril" propaganda!.

The Chinese are doing fine in Africa and are more welcome than old whitey ever was there.

When have the Chinese ever adopted those tactics?
Apparts from Mao, World War 1&2, Korea, Vietnam, Tibet..... just waiting for Africa to kick off.

The Chinese are like bankers, they will lend you their coat on a fine day and ask you for it back on the wet day. The Chinese are not a crowd to be underestimated. "1 Billion chinese cannot be wrong"
