Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Playtime for me.

    Do you work weekends?

Yeah, weekend night shifts this weekend..

Will you socialise much over the Christmas?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

I'll see a handful of people mainly close friends I'd normally see anyway. No pub plans.

Do night shifts interfere with your circadian rhythm much? Sleep pattern messed up?

Ever buy something from a traveller selling door to door?

Yeah, the night shifts suck..at times you don't know whether you're coming or going..

I bought a shítty video camera off a tinker in a garage car park once..never door to door though I think..

    Would you say you're obsessive?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

Eh, no. About anything in particular?! Not many people would answer that with a yes ...

Do you think you can choose to fall in love with a particular person?

Well, no..do you get obsessive about things if you get into them..

Can you choose to fall in love?.. I don't know.. probably not?.. can you?.. I'm probably not the person to ask.. My heart's been broken to the point where I think I voided the warranty..

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

Oh well then yes I'm very enthusiastic about my interests...

There was an experiment involving a male and female test subject and 30 questions devised to create intimacy, plus a protracted period of eye gazing. Supposedly it worked

Would you say everyone's had their heart broken?

    No..

Do you think some people are just destined to be unhappy?

I like to think not but some people do have very hard lives. Not sure where I stand on predestination.

Have you ever found a foreign object in food?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,648 ✭✭✭honeybear

    Favourite Irish places to visit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,648 ✭✭✭honeybear

    Always love going to Kerry

Do you like the Kerry accent?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

I've always had a soft spot for it. Kerry accents and Kerry itself.

If you speak Irish are you as comfortable and fluent when speaking it, as you are when speaking English?

    What book are you reading?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

The Wych Elm by Tanya French.

Do you need to be told specifically what to buy your other half for Christmas or do you get them what you think/hope they will like?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭RMAOK

Do you find you have to put loads of effort into everything - like a typical day you're giving 100% or more?

Sometimes. Other days I give less so it evens out.

If you were assigned to be a spy and infiltrated an organization or group whatever, for years, do you think you'd find it hard to stick to your original motive after living from the others perspective?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,648 ✭✭✭honeybear

Tbh, I like to give my all in everything I do (except clothes shopping)
Edit: interesting question Tammy! From watching too much Homeland, I could see myself being turned
What Is your favourite Christmas carol?

Well clothes shopping is a bit different than being sent out as a spy but I think you were answering the previous question :D

A song by The Band called Christmas Must Be Tonight but I don't think you'd get many carolers singing it.

Is door to door caroling gone now?

No, still active here. Piss poor standard though.

How do you like your rashers cooked?

    Grilled

    Favourite pizza toppings?

If I'm choosing the toppings, I always pick pepperoni, peppers, onions and pineapple.

I mean, for rashers..well done or what? I like them practically cremated. I hate when you get a breakfast at a hotel or b&b, whatever way they cooked them it's like they're boiled :/ do you not think that?

Tammy I totally agree. Daycent cooked rashers dont have that pale pasty look about them.

What is the most underrated fun holiday activity in ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,648 ✭✭✭honeybear

I’m thinking back to my childhood - used to love “going on holidays” to our cousins. I come from a very big family and these “holidays” usually coincided with my Mum having a new baby. The thing is, our cousins might only have been 5 miles up the road! Smiling Bumbóg thinking about those days!

    Do you like going camping?

I do but I have to have certain things to make it nicer. I could rough it but under canvas not plastic as it makes me asthmatic. Tbh I prefer glamping or my favourite, a gypsy caravan.

Did you use a colour scheme for your tree decorations?
