Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can't complain, could be much worse.

Do you personally know anyone who has gotten cosmetic surgery?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

No. My mother received a letter to get 'em done a couple years ago. But she'd never go near a hospital, or doctor for that matter. She's early 70s and in very good nick otherwise.
She has a little eczema but it's improved no end since she quit drinking cow milk.

What cosmetic surgery would you like if any?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,224 ✭✭✭✭RMAOK

Liposuction, or whatever it's called nowadays.

Is there anyone from your past that you absolutely despise? And if so, what do you do when (or if) you ever run into them?

They do, they're personality disorder 'sufferers'.
I have no idea, I find it awkward and annoying to imagine a day as a colour. Maybe purple because it goes with my hair.
Have you heard of or experienced synaesthesia?

Interesting question ... I have terrible eyesight and had awful glasses throughout my childhood. Because my eyesight is so poor, I never properly knew what I looked like without glasses. When I was 17, I got contact lenses and I always remember seeing myself properly for the first time and being really happy (sounds ridiculous when I read over that!)

Do you think that you are aging well?

That's also a great description of what Body Dysmporphic Disorder is like, strangely enough! No real idea what I look like. So I get this!I know I skipped back up the thread but I wanted to say that :D

Yes I am so far (insofar as I can 'see' myself lol) My mother aged very well so I'm hopeful.

Do you think it's true that good thoughts make people look more appealing?

    Maybe..if they're happy..

Can you see meanness in someone's face do you think?

Possibly yes, most emotions can be seen I'd think.

Are you generous to your friends and family?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

I saw it in my ex's face when a very overweight lady stopped him for directions. A moue of distaste.

    Sorry, missed Princess Calla.
    Yes, I'm profligate with them.

What are you awake at 4.08AM?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

Ah, I'll sleep when I'm dead. Someone gave me an idea for a project so I had to lash into it while the momentum was strong.

    You?

    Are you a life model?

I may bear a passing resemblance to the Nazarene though..

When were you last off sick from work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

It’s been a long while. I think I had a day last winter with a cold.

If a colleague came in to work with a cold would you be admiring their diligence or wishing they would take their germs off home and away from you?

Generally I would say attention seeking, but more specifically constant self pity as a way of getting attention. I have a coworker for whom 90% of his conversation involves despondently cribbing about his life and how everything is such a struggle. It’s like working with Eeyore.
Now don’t get me wrong, I understand people need to vent and how important talking is where depression is concerned. Fully with that and I always lend an ear when needed.
But this isn’t that - this guy thrives off getting “Oh you poor thing that must be so hard for you” responses from everyone for whatever reason, every day.
Absolutely exhausting going through these same motions with him every day, just relentless negativity, to the extent that I literally need to make up an excuse (bathroom or whatever) just to get some respite. And it’s not as if the rest of us don’t have problems of our own - surprisingly he never has any interest in that!

    Same question?
