Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Are you good at small talk with strangers?

I think so,heh. Most who start talking to me are the elderly, I guess I just have a certain demeanour they are comfortable with. Which is nice because over the years I've amazing stories. The younger crowd most times I've no idea what they are talking about, heh.

Nah wouldn’t be arsed and my doctor has said I could stand to gain weight if anything so not much point really.

What period of history is most interesting to you?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

There is just so much to choose from. Is the Big Bang considered a period or is it too short? I'll go with the High to Late Middle ages It's got all the 'good' stuff like the Inquisition and the Crusades.

    What's yours?

Oh I really couldn’t answer that similar to yourself there’s too much for me to choose from! Generally go on a “kick” for a different period every so often so it varies for me - currently on a 19th century kick, fascinating time for geopolitics with the Napoleonic wars, the unification and emergence of nations such as Germany and Italy, many social revolutions, Steam power and huge advances in science and engineering, the last blank patches on the map being explored and filled in, Empires reaching their awful peaks...and much more.
Ask me again in a few months and I’ll have a different answer :D

Favourite breed of dog and why?

    hot dog
Warms the soul, friendly, goes with a variety of sauces, practical, cheap, very little clean up needed.

Can you smile for the camera?

  • Registered Users Posts: 48,742 ✭✭✭✭Wichita Lineman

    :D there ya go.

    Do you 'airbrush' your selfies?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,105 ✭✭✭Trigger Happy

I can fake a smile with the best of them. Prefer my resting bitch face though.

Edit: Airbrush my selfies? Get the fack out of here!

Do you have any grey hairs?

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,633 ✭✭✭✭Widdershins

No. I had a false alarm last year, was only light bouncing off my hair.
Cant go grey, only white in the end. Redhead gene.

WHY do people airbrush their photos? Isn't it wilfully dishonest?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

I wouldn't say that. Marketing and advertising targets societal standards creating ideals which in many ways and for most are unattainable. These people therefore want to present their best version which runs toward the gold standard rather than against. As such imo it's not wilful but more needful. We do form first impressions in 1/10th of a second.

    Ever dyed your hair?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,707 ✭✭✭Bobblehats

    All the time.

Do you have a ridiculously young face and complexion which belies your age?

    You got me thinking, Auspicious.

Bobbles, well I haven't reached a grand old age yet. I do look a bit younger than I am at the moment. By comparison to friends my age.

    Mine too!!

    I am indifferent to them.

What is your opinion of the feeling 'indifference' ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,608 ✭✭✭✭The Princess Bride

I wish more people acknowledged their indifference rather than having an opinion on everything, and giving it whether or not it's wanted!

Do you leave online reviews after buying things/booking holidays etc...?

  • Registered Users Posts: 292 ✭✭Hippykitten

If I leave any review it's more likely to be a positive one
