Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Being told: I've looked into your eyes and really seen you. You're in my heart now.

    Same question

There were probably a few, although they were so long ago..

How can you accept cruelty to another person, when you can't really do much about it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,608 ✭✭✭✭The Princess Bride

I don't think I could, I'd have to intervene somehow, if not directly, then indirectly.

How many toilet rolls have you in your home right now?

How can you accept cruelty to another person, when you can't really do much about it?

If it’s in my immediate vicinity I’d have to intervene, even if doing so is stupidly risky. On the news etc I have to try and put some distance between me and it or I’d never sleep again.

But I try to spread kindness where I can and hope it’s true that it creates ripples.

What are you doing this evening?

I actually have a good few toilet rolls.. bought a big thing of them a week or so ago..

I'm just back after celebrating a birthday dinner..I'm chilling watching Babylon Berlin for the evening..

    Do you read much?

1-2 books per month on average, probably closer to one.

    Favourite author or book?

Used to never read until I started commuting to college.......book that got me reading was The Day of The Jackel......so that's my favourite. Went from that to The Eagle Has Landed.

Could add The Godfather to that.

I read a lot of Peter James

I've only read one book twice ...... The Shining

Last few books were pure muck...current one is quite entertaining.

What book/books have you read multiple times

The Catcher in the Rye but I don't tend to read books more than once, no matter how much I love them.

Do you think there's any circumstance that would push you to murder?

    You?

I don't know. If I thought they were going to kill someone belonging to me... Maybe... Hard to imagine but if I thought it was the only way to save someone I loved I suppose it's possible. Dunno how I'd pull it off though since I couldn't fight my way out of a paper bag and I almost got knocked on my ass by a gate in the wind today!

Do you want to tell me a joke?

    Don't really watch superhero movies..

What could you do about a mother hurting one of her own children?..

Contact Tusla. Do you have a real concern for the child? Under children's first guidelines if you think a child is in harm you need to report it. If the child's in immediate danger, contact the guards rather than waiting until Monday.

Yes. An old style hardware shop in my town. Its like stepping back in time, a real Alladin's cave. You could find anything in there!

Whats the last thing you treated yourself to?

A bottle of red wine this afternoon.

What's the most expensive thing you've ever bought, without taking out a loan or a mortgage?

In hindsight, it was I suppose.
I went on a date with a man, all went well we just didn't see each other again. Some years later he was on the news, in court for having abducted a woman and brought her up to the Dublin mountains and held her captive.
    Ouch.

Any exciting story to tell us?

Did you watch The Waltons or Little House on The Prairie growing up?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,309 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

Once I'm not outside in it, I don't mind too much.

Did you just watch TT now and feel like you were in an, alternative trippy universe?

I felt very much at home watching it, but I get what you mean.

Would you like to be interviewed by any of the RTÉ presenters, and if so, which one?

    I can't think of one.

Do you think the universe is designed, or not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,309 ✭✭✭✭Purple Mountain

I'm reading The God Delusion at the minute so I am very much of the mind it is certainly not designed.

    Are you reading anything currently?
