Proper tanking it down for the last hour and a half, South Galway/Clare border... No lightning yet but the power did flicker a bit

Quite a good bit of lightening visible around Cork City right now. It was pretty loud a whole ago but seems to be easing off.

    Lights flickering Castlebar

Quite strange as it's only drizzling out currently, happened again a minute ago.

Rain actually has just got heavier now.

Lights flickered here in West Clare too the same time as others.

Just watching Sat24 - there is some cohesion and structure building in that semi-frontal band that brought the storm to Cork. Lightning is observed broadly along a line stretching from the southwest out toward the Celtic Sea east of Cornwall. This is interesting for us further north potentially later in the night.

The blitzorg site doesn't seem to pick up on all the activity?

Rain started here in D6. Nothing heavy though. No sign of any power issues here either.

I reckon there's alot more to come as the system moves in, really missing the Shannon radar tonight!

About 300 homes without power now in West Cork mainly around Bantry according to the ESB power outage map.

There has been some heavy pulses of rain here all evening, with less rainy periods in between.

Constantly raining though since around 6pm

Dublin Airport should have a new TAF in the next few minutes. 2300Z usually.
Will be interesting as the previous one only called for heavy rain from 2300-0100Z and only brief mentions of any CB.
