Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Im an IT consultant running a LTD company, I have been using Excel for the past 15 years to keep my books and records and send to my account annually. I'm looking for recommendations for an accounts package that can:

    Import bank statements from PDF
    Calculate VAT returns
    Calculate RTD returns
    My accountant can access
    Cloud based

Is Quickbooks overkill for this, any recommendations?

I can't say I have used every accounts package but most of them that I have used cannot recognise PDF data on bank statements. You would need some OCR software to do that which is unnecessary.

Instead most accounts software can recognise and import CSV files which can be created by exporting data directly from online banking. Some cloud systems can even have a live feed from your bank so as soon as a transaction appears on the bank statement, it also appears in your cloud accounts package.

I would imagine that your business would still be small enough and not overly complicated whereby you could continue to use Excel. Paying for Xero, Quickbooks or some other software just seems like an unnecessary expense.
