A good proportion of the players in the 23 won’t be going to Japan. The only likely starters are Toner and Ringrose. Anyone expecting a good performance with a scratch team in a pre World Cup friendly hasn’t really seen too many of these pre World Cup friendlies

I've just figured out what game his reminds me of, years ago on Good Friday an Ireland XV played a challenge against Munster in Thomond Park, it was a training match layed at 75% pace where all the players were just worried about not getting injured.
