Kearney should have done better there.

Seems to be an awful greasy day in fairness to him. We've had 5 knock-ons in the opening 5 minutes.

Kearney should have fallen on that and tried to finish the slide over the line.

Came off the Italian player as he was about to collect it

Kearney didn’t knock that on, did he? Was the Italian foot. Try could have been given.

Ah come on lads, it was a slippy ball, he should have dived to slide in, that's the kind of try you expect your winger to be scoring

IRFU..."It seems we got our pricing structures wrong for this game. This is something we will address in the future".

Translation "won't be another 4 years til we've a dead rubber like this again so with a bit of luck the dopes will have forgotten this shambles and it'll be business as usual".

Yeah the pricing for these Friendly's is a bit mad especially to see two B teams.

A Kearney was involved, hence as always, a Kearney is at fault.

Ball was bouncing, if he dived on it he is out of options, Italian player got a boot to it.

This game is at 50% intensity or speed of this morning game

He had nearly stopped trying to gather the ball, if he took the ball at full speed the Italian player wouldn't have been near the ball

Poor by Conway there, silly penalty to give away.

Nice little kick though by Carberry

Both team's third game vs. both team's first game so no comparison really.

Yeah, nice kick through, great defense against the flat fast defensive line.

At least the lower attendances mean a lesser chance of lawsuits...

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

The back 3 aren't instilling much confidence here, Larmour didn't look comfortable at all under that cross field kick.

Rugby Championship vs a warm up game. No surprise really.

Such a sedate atmostphere. It's like watching a cricket game.

Too many penalties been given away here

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Very very very soft try to give away

You've never been to a cricket game then I take it, they can be a great session

If Italy had a reliable kicker they’d be a lot more dangerous

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

    Lovely kick by Lamour.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

Couple of lovely kicks in behind there. Ireland are copping on a bit now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,721 ✭✭✭clsmooth

God this is awful stuff, 2007 all over again?

A good proportion of the players in the 23 won’t be going to Japan. The only likely starters are Toner and Ringrose. Anyone expecting a good performance with a scratch team in a pre World Cup friendly hasn’t really seen too many of these pre World Cup friendlies :D

    Italy jersey 53 : 0 Ireland jersey

It is the first warm up game. It couldn't possibly matter less.

God this is awful stuff, 2007 all over again?

It’s 15 mins into the first game in three months for a largely second/third choice team. Calm down there.

    Lovely hands by Farrell there

Nice finish there from Joey Carbery.

Lovely try, Farrell played a lovely 10 role there.

    Lovely from Farrell and Carberry

Could be his place on plane for Farrell

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,730 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

That was a lovely switch from Farrell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,353 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Nice dummy line from Ringrose too. The defender that would've tackled Carbery was sucked in by his run.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,569 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

    Conway catched that ball perfectly.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

I've just figured out what game his reminds me of, years ago on Good Friday an Ireland XV played a challenge against Munster in Thomond Park, it was a training match layed at 75% pace where all the players were just worried about not getting injured.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,721 ✭✭✭clsmooth

    Conway catched that ball perfectly.

He caught the hell out of it.

Is that a try from Italy? TMO is having a look.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,790 ✭✭✭✭Burkie1203

    He is on

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,014 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

I think that's fair to give a try there as both left boots are in line

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,353 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    That's offside.

By a couple of inches at most. The ref was right to allow it

I think I'll head to the butchers rather than watch much more of this

On balance right to award try I think

The ref having a laugh at an Irish player in the middle of the game sums up the game to me

And then says, "ask me that again and ill penalise you". Not funny now.
