Technically it was offside. That's how var works. There is no leeway and shouldn't be. This time it was one cm, next time will be 3 or 5.

The line has been set with var. Like it or not, but that's how it works.

There is no advantage because there is video proof. Advantage only applied when the referee was in doubt. The doubt element is no longer there.
