No sign of The Birds, Candyman or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the lineup for this?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,303 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Do a 3rd place between Jaws and Dawn too!

That you can run off yourself :P

I forgot about the Birds!!!! Great film

    My vote

    ALIENS

    ALIENS

None were nominated. I was very surprised re: Candyman and Texas Chainsaw Massacre in particular.

The lost boys has a killer soundtrack, great characters, vampires, no Buffy, and is an actual horror unlike its competitor, which is a sequel to a horror.

My vote is the lost boys.

how long were signups open for nomination? I thought entries had dried up, but some people seem not to have got their nominations in :(

The only other horror movie that can compare with the Texas chainsaw massacre is the exorcist. And I don’t think that was in the list either. People are dumb.

    Lost boys.

It's good! There are better horror movies, but Aliens is not one of em, so lost boys gets my vote.

I'm now regretting not entering chucky. QB, that's what I think is a comedy horror. ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,404 ✭✭✭✭sKeith

Vote lost boys, - that soundtrack, i love aliens, but lost boys is FUN.

Very very tough final to call.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Heres Johnny

Vote goes to Aliens. Love both films but Aliens gets it for me.
In the lost boys, there's a short scene where they were trapped in the house waiting for the onslaught to come and it was a bit tense. The entire aliens movie, like its prequel, are tense the whole way through. More a terror movie than a horror movie is how I would describe it, much like Jaws. But there is definitely terror and fear aplenty in it, for the characters and for the viewers which is probably missing from lost boys. For that reason I can't vote lost boys in this very critical final round.

Open since the 5th so for 5 days, I hadn't received any nominations since Wednesday though bar Choc Chip's late late entry this morning

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,215 ✭✭✭khalessi

The Lost Boys cos The Frog Brothers and Aliens isnt a real horror movie :)

Exorcist got a single nomination, but didn't make the final cut due to randomisation process. Again, one I expected to be in the competition.

The Lost Boys - it's a brilliant film and it changed vampire films from the Dracula type to cool and complex characters.

Plus I always wanted to go on that Boardwalk!

Never saw a twilight movie, but you're probably right.

    I panicked. :(

I could have made better choices but I appreciated being allowed the late entry and wanted to get things in quick.

I'll do better when I run my own game, where I just tell you what films I like and tell you what you should vote for as best. ;)

The Lost Boys easily, by virtue of reasons already outlined.

That's not to say it's not a thoroughly enjoyable movie (Fright Night is better btw :pac: ). Kiefer was at his coolest in it, it has some iconic scenes and doesn't have any heirs and Grace's about it, just a fun, cheesy, 80s delight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,215 ✭✭✭khalessi

Well jason Patric did have amazing lips in the 80s but vampires in twilight no so much

Not a single vote for the omen. Great movie too. The big 3 from the 70s in my opinion, the Shining the exorcist and the omen. Read all 3 books too

I still want you, Lucy... I haven't changed my mind about that!

Max was so much scarier than the Queen. Imagine your prospective stepfather was a video store owner! There's no future in that...

    Lost Boys.

This made me go back and play 'Alien Isolation' tonight. I got so distracted by the votes for Lost Boys that I didn't see the Alien and it bit my head off. (I will add I was hiding under the table)
