5-1 to Cabin as it stands

28 days later. Zombie movies are definitely horror.

Okay, I'll go for The Others, but I don't mind that Cabin wins. The Others was a great watch. Cabin was silly fun.

Also I think it's safe to call The Thing as winner VS Get Out now.

    5-1 that match finished up.

I'll let folks debate Cabin VS Others for another while (or until one reaches 6).

Shawn of the Dead Vs Zombie Strippers in the next round?

I'm going to go for the others (it was a quick think). Purely for the twist ending.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 51,993 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

    5 - 3 to Cabin.

Could this be the comeback to end all comebacks?

    I'll go with the others,

And the zombie movie in the horror movies :pac::p

Ok, I'll give Others VS Cabin another while to see if we have a natural resolution.

In the meantime get ready for some more movies...

Another fearsome duo for you all:

    AND

    OMEGA MAN

    VS

    DAWN OF THE DEAD (1978)

Poltergeist 2 that film scared the **** out of me as a young lad i couldnt look in a mirror for about 6 months after

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,485 ✭✭✭✭Banjo

Poltergeist II - God is in..... His holy tem....ple..... The guy freaked me out.

Edit : oh **** is the mirror thing in that one? I *still* can't look in a mirror without thinking of that. ****ing hell

Dawn of the Dead - I did love the omega man but it wasn't scary. Dawn had horror, comedy, social commentary, existential quandaries all wrapped up in a hopeless bundle tied with a black wilted bow

Can't vote in the first, I don't know either.

I liked The Omega Man (I LOVED the Richard Matheson book it was originally based on - give it a read), but Dawn is a better film overall, so I'm going with that.

    I'm voting Poltergeists II

Dawn of the dead! One of the first horror movies I ever watched. If the world ends, I'll be making my last stand from a shopping centre.

It was close to being on my list.

I'm leaning towards nosferatu but I'll come up with a reason for one or the other.

Yes, if it's the apocalypse, Liffey Valley or Blanch Centre become your new home.

    Think I'd rather die!

You can't defend Liffey valley. Too long. They'd get a bike or car inside and you're toast. The Square Tallaght. Not the best shops but you can get to the cinema without going outside.

Liffey Valley has long high walled service yards and triple door security, main doors, barrier doors, and then the fire doors. Be grand there.

Zombie Talaifornians could get in anywhere.

Dawn of the dead because it's a gory, fun and gruesome film and it was made by the Daddy of zombie horror George Romero..

    Poltergeist II ,
Any horror with children in it freaks me out tbh :(

    The Omega Man ,
Far better than Dawn of The Dead , just didn't like that film at all .

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 51,993 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Dawn of the Dead is leading 4 - 1 at present.

    Poltergeist 2 has a 4-0 lead.

We'll let this run a little longer I think, see if there are any stragglers.

On the other hand, The Others and Cabin seem to have no more fighters in either corner.

Cabin In The Woods staggers over the line and into the next round, just.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 51,993 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

    Ok time to call this.

Poltergeist 2 scares Nosferatu out of the room.

    4 - 0 the scoreline.

Meanwhile Dawn's zombies chow down on Heston like he's nuthin'

    4-1.

Four matches left in the last 32....

Not gonna vote in the first one.

The Woman in Black is really, really good. I liked it a lot. But against Jaws? Sorry, that's an undisputed classic and has my vote.
