I’m not sure of the sense of this argument. After all we have a choice in our immigration system but no choice about our natives.

Also the fact that a country once had or has a “bad thing” doesn’t justify the importation of more of the “bad thing”.

If your job was to be a police a festival that had some violence on day 1, and you let in more violent offenders on day 2 the fact that the festival always had violence isn’t an appropriate excuse for your laxity on day 2.

People here stating that white teens do this need to get real when was the last time you heard over a provincial town been overrun with teens carrying weapons and rioting ? This was a riot by the number of people involved.

Only now are we talking in this country about minimum sentencing etc.

If people present at the scene had body cams we wouldn’t be getting the sob stories

The open-border types use this argument all the time.
It's like: "Well, since the natives are involved in criminality, what's the harm if the new Irish are doing a few stabbings, muggings, running riot on the Dart etc."
Very odd argument.

You should also note the correlation between the open-border types and the amount of taxes that they pay and how much they contribute to Irish society. Liberal Left philosophers/students etc. are not known to get up early in the morning in order to pay the taxes required for the enormous resources poured into supporting non-EU economic migrants.

You will find though that as soon as they start paying sizeable income tax, the highest mortgage rates in Europe, and high health insurance costs; it's then that they realise that it is not fair for non-EU migrants to arrive in Ireland and receive free homes and welfare for life in a very short period of time.

For the most part the trouble and gangs are confined to working-class areas.

There’s minimum sentences of 10 years for selling drugs but hardly ever used ... judges live in mansions so don’t realize or care about crime .

You'll find there's too much distrust and animosity towards Gardaí for full support of this following many years of using them as a handy sacrificial lamb for any politician who needed a cause or a distraction. Judges would be unlikely to get on board either. It probably wouldn't even act as a deterrent either as the people who generally assault Gardaí are either committing serious crime already or not thinking rationally.

They tried tough sentences in the States and look how bad things are over there, people are too keen on draconian solutions but no one wants to try actually listening to these youths and seeing things from their perspective.
