An episode of the blindboy podcast some on here will enjoy. His guest has a huge amount of stories about fairy forts etc.

That's the reason I don't put a chain on a bull anymore. I had a very tricky sunday morning trying to unwrap a chain from around a branch of a tree and there's no way I'm going through that again.

Any cross bull gets sold but thankfully I've only had to do that once. Once I don't have to be watching the bull all the time while I'm checking the cattle, I don't mind.

Won't suit some but works here.

Thanks for that. My girls are mad in to their fairies. They both have fairy doors in their rooms and have their own fairies that come and leave little notes. They have created a fairy garden under the hedge at the front of the house and have put up a new fairy door there....so we are expecting a new fairy to move in any day. Apparently, the fairy queen has to come and inspect it first to give the go ahead! :)

My wife was taught by Eddie Lenihan so we have dug out some of his books for them. I was telling them about fairy forts, fairy trees etc. yesterday. They are convinced that they exist.

The innocence of children is absolutely lovely. It's something that is disappearing from them. I glad your kids are like that. My 5 year old was like that but the older lad convinced her that there is no fairies in the garden. There is a fairy fort close by I must bring her up.

Once had a stock bull manage to trap himself, by the nose ring, on a whitethorn bush with an upturned broken branch. He wasn’t discovered until mid-day Monday. With the amount of dung and wee on the ground behind him, he could have been there since the Saturday.

Know of a lad that had the bull in a garden beside the house. He was going for a cuppa and seen the bull standing at the far wall. After tea he was still there so your man went for a look. The bull had wrapped the nose chain around an electric wire and was stood there, nearly frozen, not balling or pulling or anything. He couldn’t understand how he wrapped the chain around the electric wire

Tbh, I think a chain tends towards making a bull cross. Walking all day and either himself or a cow standing on the chain and jerking his nose ring, I know it would make me cross anyway.

I think it's great too. I remember when I was younger and my Grandfather used to go to town on Fridays to collect the pension and have a few mediums no doubt. That evening he would bring me out the front of the house to check if the 'leprechaun' had left me anything. After a bit of searching I always found a bag of sweets under a bush or something.

Auld lad reckons a longer chain is less likely to get caught.

Had the vet out with a pb suckler calf that isn't doing well. Temp ok, dung ok. Lungs a little bit harsh. Riddled with lice  not scratching or anything. He has been outside nearly since he was born. She said animals are very bad with it this year for some reason. We would never do the suckler calves for lice until they get pour on for worms

    Does bimectim plus cover that?

Afaik stand corrected, injectable Ivermectin only covers sucking lice whereas the pour on version covers both sucking and biting lice.

They'll just send you an error letter. Put the correct date on it , sign it and post it back

If you kept a copy and know the certificate number, you could login to Agfood.ie and enter the details, under the "Animal Identification and Movement" tab,(AIM). That is if you are registered with agfood.ie, if not apply and they will send you secure login details, and a pin number.

I have a pint of Guinness here the odd night. Very important to put the glass in the fridge for a while beforehand. Pouring has to be right too. Hhmmm !
OH likes to have a couple of cans of Guinness on a Friday night and I've been rinsing and putting the glasses into the freezer since reading your post. He really appreciates the difference.

I remember my lads telling me when they were working in the pubs that they used to rise the inside of pint glasses in water and put them into the freezer.

I’ve now put glasses into fridge and into freezer, I shall report back later. There is no guarantee I will remember to report back after I’ve had a sup.

Those glasses in the freezer are supposed to be empty not full of Guinness.

Genomics tags finally arrived, so got to dose everything and do them today.
Had a load of meetings planned for today but couldn’t attend as both Vodafone mobile broadband and my mobile was not working. I still have no work coverage. Two days in now.

My 5 yo lost her first tooth. All excited about the tooth fairy.
