Just finished baling the straw, time to put baler away till next year.

Never seen such a short crop, there was about half the number of bales compared to last year.

How's everyone looking for bales at this stage? I should have enough straw including last year's surplus but it looks like I'll have more than enough silage despite the poor first cut.

Back to some bit of normality.
Buried our father last Friday after a tough 14 days. 80 years of fresh air farming kept the heart strong.
After 5 years of dementia and knowing the inevitable it still hits you.

Whatever about normality. There'll never be such a thing just different.

    Sincere condolences CHOPS01.
    Sorry for your troubles.

    Deepest sympathy to your family
Tough times to have a funeral, they're very well attended around here again now but still weird with all the people standing around afraid to go near anyone.

I'm supposed to be going for stents in a few weeks, it was supposed to be surgery because of the difficulty of getting in the stents but I changed doctors and this guy thinks he'll get them in. It's been pending for a while but kept putting it off, I had no great wish for getting my ribs cut open.
    Stents I can handle

    Bit surreal to be honest.
Passed away early Wed morning. We had the world of callers to the house on Wed night and right through the day on Thursday up until about 11 o clock that night. Big crowd outside the church on Friday. Buried in his home parish so another different crowd then at the graveyard.
But people just didn't know what to do. Some with the hand out, some fist pump and others just a nod.
    Strange for the older generation.

Is there anyone here who can give me a bit of tax advice? I am willing to pay. I don’t have an accountant and mams is my brother.

Long story short; Mam is due some money (6k) for land damage/access from a semi state but to keep below a threshold in their accounts, They want to give me a cheque for half and I then pass it to her. How to I do this without me having a tax liability on the 3k so she can maximise her few quid. She would only have lower tax rate.
