Would anyone have an idea how much firewood is making? I was approached by someone to buy lengths of timber off me. We cut some poplars back that were growing close to the house

I'll throw up a tweet that might be of interest to some on here. If you've ever thought about planting some trees, a hedge, shelter belt or a few fruit trees, the link below might interest you.

Brother has a ring doorbell with camera, speaker and connects to the mobile phone.

Can set it to warn of activity or just when it’s pressed.

Can talk to whoever is there, records a 2 min clip each time.

Impressive, €100 and a bit fiddly to install.

Very civilised of a potential burglar to ring a doorbell!! A different breed in Cavan:D

Received a letter today, that says I had a remote inspection based on updated satellite imaging. Has results attached and everything looks ok.
Anyone else gotten one of these?

No. Has your ANC been paid?

No, but I don't receive ANC payment anyway.
But there were sections in the table for ANC land categories.

There is a table "schemes selected for remote sensing inspection".
    Bps
    Greening
    ANC
    ASC
    Protein aid
    Young Farmers
    BDGP

All had an N next to them except BPS which had a Y. So only inspected for BPS but could have been any scheme I suppose.

Was thinking of getting a generator to run lights in a shed, might also be used for clippers.
Has anyone used a suitcase generator? Is there a limit to it’s use?

I have a 2.5 kva generator, and it'll run a set of Lister clippers no problem, run lights fine, and just about run an angle grinder.
    5kva would be better

My long lost ancestor from Burundi phoned me earlier this afternoon unfortunately the phone only rang once and I missed the call ;)

I got a call myself today from Eircom saying they were about to disconnect the internet because of constant error messages. They had my surname and all.
Raging as I only answered the call as I was expecting someone to call me back. I just hung up on the nice Indian sounding girl.

It's cat here, pours of rain, then sun, followed by more rain. Possibly frost next week could see them out at the weekend?

It’s gas, the difference in places... The rain that we got this week we nearly wanted.
Places have turned very green in the few days since the weekend...

Recent new scientific tests on biological material from archaeological digs is revealing way more than people now were claiming possible about life in Ireland thousands of years ago.
Such tests have revealed that Neolithic farmers when they arrived here were already fully fledged dairy farmers at 3,800 B.C.
That's, if you don't know your maths, 5,819 years ago..

Oh it's very green here, loads of grass.
But if you can teach cows to graze on a boat & paddle by tail, I'm all ears.

Serious rain (in between the showers) here since last Sunday. We still have all the cattle out but the heavier/older ones are starting to do a bit of damage and we're feeding hay to the 2 cows and heifers.

I was at a funeral today and the wind would skin you along with the driving rain in the graveyard.
