Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I liked a lady called Medusa back in the day. I remember her writing one time that she had some sort of serious health problem, so I'm worried she might've died but I hope not.

Medusa is very much alive :)

If they are, they don't seem to be as belligerent as 'back in the day"...

Scofflaw because he could always explain the complicated stuff in plain english.
    Is Scofflaw gone?

I would have included him if I'd known. I no longer use the politics forum on a point of principle (the principle being I was banned once over a discussion about economic policy and took an enormous sulk).

I don't think Scofflaw was knowledgeable per se, in that he mentioned he had a background in IT as opposed to politics or economics, so he'd almost never critique a theory so long as the i's were dotted and the T's were crossed. Theory wasn't his thing; he had no time for pretense or boy-intellectuals, which is a good thing. It was his ability to read large volumes of policy and distill them down to their most crucial points that I found hugely enviable. He'd make a great journalist, if he isn't one.

conservatory. He was hilarious but quit when people realised he was funny and stopped being agitated.

TheMadChef is another one. She got dogs' abuse in The Thunderdome, and she gave it, but moments after you called her all sorts of blue epithets, she'd be PMing you asking if you had a nice weekend or whether you'd like to come to a boards meet-up or something.

On a similar topic, pretty sure I saw Bronte swigging from a bottle of 2019 Merlot on a park bench in Camden recently. The Theatre is a cruel industry, and I expect that "Italian" of hers has his residence visa by now.

She was so nice it'd make you feel bad for acting the cnut.

Dudess has already been mentioned, she was another sound one. The Minister was an intelligent guy, although I seem to remember he was in the Progressive Democrats, which tarnishes him. Probably a backbench FGer by now, I think he frequented politics.ie also.

I'd only have to see his name come up and steam would come out my ears.

very sexist undercurrent to his posts.

Yeah, that Frada guy was a real jerk alright. Think he and javaboy were the same guy actually. Sad.

Dudess was a dude (of course).

And the Thunderdome crew were basically a bunch o' lads who were in their thirties in their twenties.

Still, at least you knew where you stood with that lot unlike the modern day snowflakes who close and reopen accounts more often than a Fianna Fáil finance minister.

Dude were you ever in a private forum here?

Apologies if I've got the wrong guy, but I'm pretty sure I was in the same private forum as you when you, I and those people you mention were talking about some very personal things and you never once raised an issue with any of the folks you mention. Apologies if I've got the wrong user, he wasn't particularly memorable.

That was him. He brightened up any thread he appeared in.:D

Also, The Citizen. His thing was to throw in the odd post about being some sort of vigelante ridding the streets of 'scum'.

Sounds like he was an oddball, but everyone loved him!

If KikiLaRue was banned, that’s insane. Good and polite poster.

I can vouch for that sentiment. I've met KikiLaRue in person and she is a sound young lady. :)

Terry you were the very best.

At a very difficult time in my life I got great advice in PI from Carsinian Thau and a poster whose name I can't remember, but she worked as a psychiatrist I think and modded PI iirc.

I remember a few posters from the UCD forum around 15 years ago who were very enjoyable and helpful. Sebthebum (I think he changed his name to something like arbeit) and Chinafoot.

    Runfordahills was entertaining.
