So, the vast majority of people who didn't give 2 fcuks about climate change until a few months ago are now fully on board because a scientifically illiterate teenager, cosseted and promoted by the mainstream media, and, thanks to her parents and various dodgy people, running a slick PR operation - has told them that the world is going to end soon.

Grown adults are now true believers because twatter and twatbook have told them that Greta is the saviour of the world.

This is why the West is in decline.

Nah, this mass hysteria nonsense needs to be challenged.

People follow whatever the media and, in particular, social media tells them to follow. There is a real herd like mentality among the devotees of this teenager.

If the hashtag #burnfossilfuels started trending on twatter tomorrow, the same people would be fully on board.

    ard.

You might ask yourself if your desire to fight Greta origins in social media too. ;)

You could say the same about her worshipers? Why does it bother you so much that people criticise her? You just need to take a leaf out of your own book and move on.

Say wha? I've no need to be moving anywhere, it's all good here

I've no desire to fight a teenager. I refuse to discuss issues of social and political importance with anyone under the age of 25.

It's one thing not to support her, another thing is to post memes about her, limelight, throw red herrings, claim without proof and so on.
On the other hand the more you and the other media rub itself on her the longer she will stay relevant.
That's actually a disgusting comment that speaks volumes about your character. Most people don't think about ''rubbing'' themselves on a child.

It won't be though, at least not for a while. How many trees were felled to provide paper for Greta's book which was perfectly timed for the Christmas market? Oh, I'm sure they'll say it was all sustainable woodland etc, then again the media isn't going to check. Just like they didn't ask why when she is concerned about the environmental impact of fossil fuels and flying, did she travel onboard the yacht of a man who has made his fortune in mining and oil rigs?

What’s disgusting now? It’s 11.20am on a Saturday and you’re outraged at something you’ve clearly decided is just not on. That’s speaks about you though.

People still making the "Greta uses the things and exists so is a hypocrite for expressing an opinion" point, that got old after page three of this thread.

It would be close to impossible for someone in a western industrialised country to live in a way that does not negatively affect the environment in one way. That's why Greta has least shown improvements can be made.

She's been called a member of ISIS, a lackey of George Soros, a puppet, and there's a lot of bs and and propaganda out of there trying to discredit her. Trying to accuse her of being hypocrisy is also bollocks.

How do you feel about her having taken a ride to the climate summit on board the yacht owned by a man who made his money from oil and mining? Do you not find it hypocritical that someone who claims to be terrified of climate change feels perfectly OK hitching a ride on the private yacht of a man who made his fortune raping the planets natural resources?

In the age of the internet where you can conduct audio and video interviews without having to leave the comfort of your house, it is indeed ironic that the activities of a troubled young adult have generated more CO2 emissions caused by people orbiting around her lifestyle choice.

There has been a public relations team behind her from the start. For instance B-Reel Films has been covering her from the very start, this has been a very slick public relations campaign built on the back of several similar failed campaigns over the past 5 years by the same operators (Greenpeace et al)

I saw pictures of her recently and she looked exhausted especially after that trip being rocked about the North Atlantic for several weeks. They needed to use the yachts diesel engine to reverse the stuck catamaran transporting her off a sandbar in Portugal when they got stuck for a few hours. The PR team also needed to fly an experienced skipper across the Altantic so Greta could make the crossing in time, we do not know who paid for her services.

It's those 3 words "not private jet" - because we all have the option of a private jet no less? It's out of this world compared with how the vast majority live their lives.

That's where the PR falls flat on its face.

It's someone who will never have to make actual life changing sacrifices pontificating to those with far less that they are the ones who will make the life changing sacrifices.

She is an executive director at a $400 million per annum corporation that specialises in creating moral outrage among the public in order to fund its business model.

There's some young woman who is always sat beside her at public events who is from Bono's youth foundation.

Luisa-Marie Neubauer and she was also associated with 350.org.

There are also propaganda outlets or as they like to be called these days "social change agencies" like Fenton Communications.
