So moving forward. As a middle class meat eater who drives a large SUV everywhere who is completely unwilling to pay a single cent more in tax , how can I help the planet without changing anything I do. I am ok with others who are not in my scenario having to change.

Make sure to have a think to confirm you are ok with your grandchildren or their descendants having a tougher life because of the excess you are enjoying now.

You'll be gone, it doesn't matter does it.

You could write a letter to China asking them to stop building things and eating food. India too.
But then you would have to spend money on a stamp and it's too much effort writing a letter.

Just do what I do to help.
    Absolutely nothing. Be grand

    Please.
Proper referenced information would be a novelty. I doubt you'd recognize it after your effort earlier.

Christ as detailed by another poster- you're relentless.

Please who? Yourself? Look if you just want to continously b!tch and snipe in your comments and not discuss the topic of the thread - let me know and I'll simply add you to the ignore list.

Did you vote for the Council of the European Union or the President of the EU or how about the EU Commission?

The EU emissions targets imposed by an unelected regime on member states leading to sin taxes on carbon?
Absolutely. Let’s put the imposition of carbon taxes on our citizens to a referendum. Except the EU would not allow that would they?

The youngsters should be out and about not staring at a screen eating crisps all evening. Might be a good thing. Humanity is getting fat and lazy. A bit of hardship could revitalise the species.

I voted for representatives to vote on my behalf to fill those positions.

Did you vote specifically for each ministerial position or rely on the elected members of Dail Eireann figuring it out?

Sounds like a well thought out strategy.
    You've me convinced anyway.

Maybe start with Eric and the SUV he drives everywhere.

I'm talking about the next few generations. After things begin to fall apart. Our time is now. We can take it easy. Enjoy yourself it's later than you think

That old hoary chestnut of an apples and oranges comparison again. Ministers are appointed but are also elected in their own right and are ultimately answerable to the electorate. What electorate is a Jean Claude Junker or Ursula Von der Leyen answerable to. Please tell us?

Given the roles they occupied, the electorate of the European Union via their heads of state.

Between Brexiteer mentality, no interest in positive action on climate change, Trump cheering, all we're missing is a shout out for Peter Casey for a full house.

    It's really all too stereotypical.

So at least reluctantly you are admitting the people imposing climate taxes on us are not elected and are not answerable to any electorate. Another way of saying this is that they don’t have a mandate.

    Wrong.

    You're consistent anyway.

Well I have studied the European Union under a respected author on the subject, you might even say an expert and the democratic deficit at the heart of the EU is really “a thing”.
Ask Greta about it maybe when you take a break from full time online advocacy.

    Sure you did.
So respected you didn't mention their name.
    Sounds legit alright.

What are you, part of a tag team to try to discredit her? You got the night shift did you?

It was during his tenure at Trinity that I learned a little from him. Big Ben. Salad days.

    1. Get a vasectomy.

    2. Give your 8th preference to a Green candidate in all future elections.

    3. Stop spitting your used chewing gum out the window of your SUV.

They have hit the Azores this morning and changed tack to sail with the trade winds behind them.

It'll be fast and easy sailing for a while now, at a balmy 26 degrees temp.
Time to put the spinnaker up, get out some cocktails and do some sunbathing on the deck.

You do know that the title of the thread is "Greta and the aristocrat sail the high seas to save the planet." Where the OP sets out their doubts as to gretas current big adventure yeah?

This is a discussion. Other people in the limelight on boards currently include Pensioners, Brush Shiels and some Youtuber / social media influencer person. They are being discussed as I type.

Here funnily enough greta is being discussed.
Its noticable tbh when you don't like another posters opinion you accuse them of everything up to and including invading Russia. But no there is no conspiracy to 'discredit' anyone. There is no "tag team" (sic) . People are giving their opinions. Tbh it would be fair to say if maintaining courtesy, respect, and exercising tolerance of opposing views is difficult, then such discussions on public forum could definitely be difficult. But hey there we go.

Even though the term is often misappropriated - the thing is none of this lot are proper environmentalists. An environmentalist is usually a qualified specialist in the fields of environmental science and have actually studied and or worked professionally in these areas.

A lot of what we are dealing with are usually later day born again screaming green ninjas. It's up there with allowing mosquitos to suck your blood or trying to talk to grizzly bears tbh.

You're confusing me with someone else.

At least that's all I can deduce from the above sentence which doesn't really make sense.

They are going to have a tougher life in the technocracy outlined in Agenda21 with a cradle to grave nanny state interfering with every aspect of their lives down to what they eat for breakfast, literally. Such socialist utopias only work well for and for the benefit of the con artists that run them, they would still be living like lords fattening themselves of the backs of the rest of us while delusional dreamer types such as yourself are eating lentil grule thinking your savings the planet.

Not a delusional dreamer by the way just to make that clear.

I've no idea what the future holds but don't think selfishness or waste now is giving us the best chance of there being any sort of a reasonable one.

At this point, part of me feels like saying enough is enough and just leaving ye to the circle jerk of faux righteousness and 'concerned' views of those who feel threatened by anything which either they don't understand or are afraid of.
I know Stevie would prefer that seeing as he seems confused about how discussion forums work. Which is surprising given his post count in 6 weeks or so.

Hmmm, what to do, what to do.....

It has been confirmed that the aristocrat and the german skipper are to be flown home from New York after the stunt. Two new crew are to be flown to New York to sail the yacht back to Europe. I wonder how Greta will get back to Sweden, will Elton John send a private jet?

Surely Greta has given them a right oul volley of abuse for this, considering she doesn't allow her parents to fly
