"Yes there is destructive work involved in raising wind turbines, but ultimately the damage is much less than not doing so"

You don't give up, girl. I respect that.

I really hope you don't believe what you are typing

I think the reason the poster mentioned about what happened in Tallaght is because it was only tweeted out today.

Every action could be said to impact on the environment but that is not to say that they are ultimately invalid or pointless or even hypocritical.

Yes there is destructive work involved in raising wind turbines, but ultimately the damage is much less than not doing so. That makes it a worthwhile exercise.

Not just with building them but operating them seems to bring many issues also.

I believe We need to go nuclear and the world/governments/central banks/imf should agree to fund it (print their imaginary money), with 0% interest and 1000 year payback, World wide for every country to switch. If not nuclear they should agree to fund any other "green" energy, so its not a drain on countries debts.

After all if they don't there will be nothing left for the Central Bank to do, andif we are really serious a world wide effort and agreement is needed??

I think a combination of both green and nuclear is needed to move away from fossil fuels, but the forces maintaining the status quo are immense, public banking systems could be created to part or possibly fully fund these projects

    Finally, someone says "nuclear".

We can easily stick three on East coast/Irish sea

Wexford/North Dublin County/ Just after Meath

Unfortunately it is written into our constitution to ban nuclear. It takes decades to bring one of these online.

Objection your honour. Not in my back yard.

    I'm all for nuclear.

East coast only, though. The south and west are beautiful.

Interesting strategy, like the French government placed the La Hague reprocessing facility in Normandy and the English placed Sellafield in Cumbria.

You are overlooking the perennial problem - property values.

    Planning permission guaranteed LOL

Someone said decades, but I thought a country (japs?) built one recently in 8 years...?

Are we still pushing this farce?

Ice ages, ice melting, earth cooling, earth warming has been happening for billions of years yet we still have people here telling us humans in the few years we exist are somehow to cause.

I look forward to seeing these built: http://www.dublinarray.com/index.html

That'll test the real resolve of many of our capital's residents who are concerned about use of excessive fossil fuels, the view from Killiney Hill will be marred. http://www.saveourseafront.net/dublin-array-wind-farm-proposal.html

You know it is not easy to find details of the science involved behind the catastrophic anthropogenic global warming hypothesis, but if you are a skeptic like me you need to get a basic grasp of the science involved. Once you have that you can present a case that makes the alarmists step back because they don't know the science either. Once you start digging into climate science you will quickly realise it is multi disciplinary, there is nobody who knows everything about the climate, but if you want to grasp why they are making a song and dance about CO2 then start with this presentation.

There are terms used in the presentation that you may not be familiar with, don't worry about those stick with the presentation and if you are curious you can use google those terms afterwards. This will put you in the right direction and then the Connollys work will begin to make sense.

Yes, because the evidence says so.

No wonder the colleges are falling down the ranks.

    Evidence? SPOOFER

This is no such thing as evidence. There are data and results.

This is really resembling an Aquarian doomsday cult at this stage. The messianic virginal leader, a specific end of the world date (12 years left), the deliberate recruitment of masses of young people etc.
