Some help needed with my m4p music files

I just got a new samsung android phone and decided to upgrade to a much bigger memory card. I just copied over all my music collection. It was all pretty straight forward except for one thing - the .m4p files.

All the m4p files are coming up as blocked. I can't seem to play them. They were working fine on my old phone.

Is there anything I can do to unblock them?

    Old phone being iPhone?
You will need to convert them to mp3 first

m4p files can only play in iTunes / on iPhones. They are old copy-protected iTunes downloads.

...they played just fine on my old samsung phone.

Is there another player app that might play them on android?

Put the files back on and check for certain - I suspect you're imagining things / confusing them with later m4a downloads

There is nothing else that can play them except iTunes logged in to the correct account.

Are you sure you weren't streaming them?
They cannot be played on Android
