Can you accept a level 6 or 7 offer on round one and get a level 8 offer in round 2

    Hi

    My brother got offered a level 6/7 course on CAO today. He didn't get his first choice on level 8. Is it possible to receive level 8 offer in round 2,

    Yes, if the points drop in R2.

    He actually has enough for his level 8 2nd choice, but didn't get an offer this round. He got an offer for his first choice in level 6/7, and would like to accept with the potential to get his round 2 level 8 offer.

    That is strange. If he has the points for his second choice, he should have got an offer.

    Are you sure he meets the minimum requirements for the course?

    E.g. does it specify a certain grade in maths or some other subject which he hasn't met?

    He got offered level 8 about 35 minutes after level 6/7. So he's good.

    Ah, if it was the offer-by-text, that's not surprising ... with the sixty-something thousand going out at pretty much the same time, it's bound to strain all the systems involved.
