He is, you can catch up with him on Twitter mostly now.

Some great remarks and jokes out of him at times.

Am I following any of ye on twitter if ye know who I am.
Of course we have to be better behaved over there. :D:D

I can't settle to using twitter at all and no harm cause there would be no work done. I prefer Boards and spend enough time on it :)

I like Twitter. Great for the local GAA. They do a score by score update for most games. The Limousin society also do live updates for auctions.

I find it good for international news like the BBC News (World) but I can't get the hang of posting in a conversation, iykwim.

Most posters are good in fairness. I not sure how many of you are on twitter. A couple anyway.
People can be ****ing horrible though, I remember one poster getting dogs abuse, thankfully came back in a different alias. I don't speculate on who people are in real life. I have met a couple who have helped me in fairness. I'd meet more only I'm very shy in 'reality'

There was a couple of people who posted pictures of wonderful scenery. Is it my imagination or are less pictures being posted maybe afraid of giving identity away.

Twitter is fine for following certain things that interest me, there's lots of very knowledgeable posters there. And lots of lunatics too, they can be very funny when they get offended:D

I think I might be following ya.

Tbh I'm using Twitter for snooping.
And there's some great posters on Twitter.

All the academics are posting results on Twitter. The personal stuff doesn't interest me. But then I am a robot.

Out of interest do most of ye post off your phone or computer?

Connemara farmer. He's over on thefarmingforum also on Twitter I believe.

Thought Connemara was very good, made the best of the land he had, ground that would be alien to most. Wasn’t afraid to work a shovel and pick.

Bob Charles..... if an idea wasn’t his way of doing things, he’d give no time to consider it.

Have we lost many more users since the vanilla migration.

Lady haywire is gone. Bound to be more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,623 ✭✭✭Mehaffey1

All the forums are so quiet. There'd be a new post in Farming and Forestry between every refresh.

Hard to believe how many are gone and hiw many still here even if in a different reincarnation

Lady Haywire is a loss alright, I follow her on Twitter and a few of the other ones on here that I can identify.. Twitter is a bit of a paid as you have to scroll through all the political stuff which doesn't interest me. The one thing I like about boads is people put up what works for them & then you can take that idea and modify it to suit your own system…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,480 ✭✭✭funkey_monkey

Not a fan of twitter. It's the equivalent of a list of everyone's posts on all forums on boards.

Awkward to filter out the person's other posts to only get those of interest. Very little media.

I find if you search there is a lot of folk putting up interesting stuff on TikTok. They'd be confident - you'd have to be to put your face up for all to see. But generally there is some good stuff. Between it and here I get all I need and want to get.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,115 ✭✭✭Kevhog1988

I am a big twitter fan (kevhog88_22). Get a lot of advice on there and also spend a lot of time talking to a group of other die hard kildare gaa fans on a group chat on it. I enjoy seeing pics of other people's farms on it and trying topick ppls brains. Some very smart ppl post on it (and here).

The strange thing about boards I find that I learn more from the people I disagree with than the people that I agree with.its great to hear a different view. Bass, dawg straight and a few more are great for a bit of sparring and great to keep a fella thinking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,125 ✭✭✭✭Bass Reeves

It's very easy to tell people what they want to hear. It harder to explain to people what they do not want go listen to.

I make more wrong decisions( mistakes) than right decisions. However I always try not to keep on making the same mistake and if a decision is correct I try to keep with that decision. The other thing about farming it very similar to technology it keeps changing and you have to change with it.

What I find about farming is many think it's easy to keep accepting if I invest more that this will sort an issue or problem. However I have come to the conclusion we often accept making extra investment to achieve extra turnover which often entails extra work with little or no extra margin to us farmers.

Now I question every extra cost and I am slow to add cost into the system

Saw the wolf of wall street talking one time.

He said the difference between him with his millions and others was he makes 7 mistakes for every one average guy makes but he doesn't care, just learns and tries again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,399 ✭✭✭Dunedin

what was the last wrong decision (mistake) you made?
