I got nothing in my mailing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,644 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

will any old sim do once it is working? Can you just walk in and get the phone? unlock codes are only 4 euro on ebay

  • Registered Users Posts: 267 ✭✭mickey1985

Terms and conditions state subject to showing voucher and 20 top up at time of purchase

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,644 ✭✭✭✭TheDriver

even with the credit and an unlock code, its still a 170 euro phone for less than 100, 120e seems a good yoke

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,208 ✭✭✭✭B.A._Baracus

Just a heads up: Got told once you cannot use a Lyca sim to switch.

There's no mention of 20 top up requirement?

It says to be redeemed with a voucher and it states on the actual voucher about the 20e top up requirement.

Ah fair enough. I must get the voucher from a friend so didn't see that.

If TheDriver doesn't need the voucher I'll take it off your hands. Small lady is looking for a new phone.
    Thanks.

It says this on the voucher also

Putting a sim in doesn't lock them! If they're locked, they're factory locked. If they're unlocked, they're factory unlocked.

Some only network lock when a sim is applied

What about the Moto G drama way back, locked to the network of the first SIM installed in the phone.

GSM Arena says it was released in May: https://m.gsmarena.com/vodafone_smart_n10-9725.php

The Vodafone.com website says it's 'coming soon': https://www.vodafone.com/content/index/devices/smartn10.html

Edit - It is already available from Vodafone UK: https://shop.vodafone.co.uk/mShop/pay-as-you-go/vodafone-smart-n10-payg/sku206364

Yes, not everyone gets the Vodafone voucher. Probably selected randomly.

I'll be using the one I got from a relative. You could ask the kind poster who offered to send me theirs.

As an FYI, I emailed Dunnes looking for a voucher and apparently I wasn't signed up for promotional things to be included in my mailings. I got the preference changed.

No it must be a switch from another provider (excluding Lycamobile).

Get a cheap or free sim and put it in another phone. Bring it with you in case they ring the number while you're in there. You can get a free one in the post from Eir I think or can buy one in Tesco for something like €2.50.

You need to port another number to vodafone.....order an eir SIM online.

Many stores are picky and make you to call on their number from the number you are porting so you might have to top up the eir SIM as well.

you wonder why they care once they can show you have a phone with the number active on it (e.g. ringing the mobile itself), a sale is a sale.

Was it the cheap 19.99 phone?
Vodafone always do this. They have a select amount of stock of the phones they advertise but usually give you a "deal" on another phone not listed. Deal is never as good as the one listed. Usually. But maybe go back and ask.

it was the a20e, they said they'd be in in a few days.
