Any thoughts, comments or indeed criticisms most welcome. I have money ITB to change Rashford to Abua after this week, Willian is a short term punt also.

    Ryan/McCarthy

    Lundy/Soy/TAA/Gomez/Sokratis

    KDB/Mane/Maddison/Troare/Willian

    DCL/Ings/Rashford

Now into the second half of the season is there an optimum time to use the wildcard. I still have all three others to play also (Free hit bb and tc )

Last year I remember somebody on twitter outlining strategy for remainder of the season around this time. I suppose more is know when the Cup Fixtures are known?

I was looking at an early WC but have decided against it. The reason being is, it depends on your team and my team, well I have 3 Liverpool players and they have a DGW shortly (I know I will still have 3 after the DGW) but more so it is the fixtures of the other players before this double which is shortly.

It really depends on your team when to play. There is no best time, as indicated by a few threads who have shown there is value in an early Wildcard and a later Wildcard.

It all depends on your current team. No point early wildcarding if your team doesn't need it

opinions on this wildcard lads? i wonder if there's any update on rashford

i could also take McCarthy out for a 4.0 because i will most likely play alisson every week. Or I could have Ryan instead of McCarthy and downgrade Allison after liverpools DGW. not sure what to do

Change Allison and a defender to like VVD? Allison will never get save points or BPs

I'm looking at my WC now:

    Pope
    Dunk Kelly Lundstram
    Mane KDB Salah Dedoncker
    Aguero Vardy Ings

Bench: Mcgovern: Choudhury Willams(United) Gibson(Burnley) essentailly 3 playing defenders only.

Going to keep an eye of price rises, before hitting WC button, but looking at moving this lot:

    McGovern, Gazzinga
    Rico, Kelly, TAA, Holgate Garcia
    Mane, Salah, KdB, James, Nakamba
    Vardy, Rasford, Mousset

    To

    Ryan, McCarthy
TAA, Stephens, Kelly, Holgate, Williams (Man U)
    Mane, Salah, KdB, Mahrez, Hayden
    Aguero, Ayew, Greenwood

Pros of doing the WC - I get two playing GK's, and get rid of Gazzinga
I get rid of Rico and my experiment of Garcia.
I get rid of James who hasn't really done much lately and pick up Mahrez who is on form. Nakamba to Hayden gives me a player who starts and plays and is 4.3m.
Up front - Mousset seems to have lost his place, so moving him on for Greenwood is ok.

Vardy and Rashford to Aguero and Ayew are probably the moves that i'm not sure is worth it?. But I think maybe the strength of the other changes make it ok.

After the DGW I can reassess the pool players and downgrade one of them, and upgrade Ayew in needed for instance.

thinking of making five changes which would mean mane, vardy, jimi pope maddison out

    allison/mc carthy

    gomez kasabele holgate lundy azpil

    kdb mahrez doucoure richie willian

    firmino aguero ings

    .1 left
    3 from city/pool 2 from everton and watford+chelsea...seems a bit much

I don't really want willian tbh but my options are limited enough, he'll get a few points but just not regularly enough

Any move th at involves selling mane and going without him or salah for dgw is crazy
Using a wildcard to do it is insane

two clean sheets plus a goal or two from firmino would probably
compensate though even though I dont want to rely on firmino too much
the wc has been done so I've a while to rejig it but I really want aguero
    at home to palace

other option is to drop richie and willan plus firmino to
mane kdb mahrez doucoure fleck (6.4m avail for a mid)
    deeny aguero ings

not sure i want 3 from watford though their upcoming fixture are kind

    Downgrade firmino to greenwood
    Downgrade azpi to someone
You should have enough then for willian to salah or mane ?
Also why do you have mccarthy as well as Alison
If you need more money then get button

just in the off chance of allison missing a game and having a keeper that
plays, frees up .3 is all
I found i had 14 players and all looked like good options for next gw
will prob downgrade azpil also but not sure who to yet

    mane kdb mahrew richie doucoure
    aguero ings greeenwood

Looking like I’ll be going with

    Ryan (Martin)

    TAA Masuaku Stephens Webster (Lundstram)

    Salah Mane KdB Mahrez (Dendoncker)

    Aguero Martinelli

Triple City for home to Palace and then an away fixture v Sheff Utd

Triple Liverpool for Utd & DGW with 2 being attackers

Martinelli is a punt with Aubameyang suspended

Double Brighton defence v a toothless looking Villa & Bournemouth side in next 2.

Masuaku an OOP defender with a home fixture & a DGW

Stephens for an improved Southampton side.

    Current team

    Ryan, Button

    Gomez, Soy, Lundstrum, Aurier, Simpson

    Mane, KDB, Martial, Sterling, Cantwell

    Ings, Maupay, Vardy

Looking at two potential wildcards, basically based on what Liverpool I want

    Team 1

    McCarthy, Button

    TAA, Lundstrum, Soy, Robertson, Cathcart

    KDB, Mahrez, Mane, Sarr, Martial

    Ings, Greenwood, Vardy

    Team 2

    McCarthy, Button

    TAA, Lundstrum, Soy, Williams, Cathcart

    KDB, Mahrez, Mane, Cantwell,Salah

    Ings, Greenwood, Vardy

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,934 ✭✭✭AdpRo

    McCarthy / McGovern

TAA / Lord Lunny / Williams / Kelly / Cathcart

    Mahrez / Mane / Salah / Grealish / Ricky

    Kun / Ings / Greenwood

OR is 1.6m so need something different to try and get some sort of respectability back. No money in the bank hence Kelly who i can only sell for 4.2.

Was liking the team, a lot, until I got to the last player and then wondered what formation you see yourself playing ?

It looks like you’ll be playing 4-4-2 ?

Hard to give advice now. I was just going to post ‘I really like that team’ but unless you are happy playing 4-4-2 I’m not so sure.

Yea I'm not overly happy with Ayew in the team, I could downgrade Ryan to 4.0 keeper - and just have the one keeper, and also downgrade Holgate to a 4.2m defender and then bring in Deeney. I think Deeney might be a good option and would be more comfortable playing him in a 4-4-2

    I’d do that
Wouldn’t be happy with ayew as a starter every week

I’ve rejigged it a bit but keep coming back to a 4-4-2 next week as my bench is Fleck & Martinelli. If I go 3-4-3 it will be

    McCarthy

    Trent VVD Webster (Masuaku Lundstram)

    Salah KdB Mahrez Richarlison (Fleck)

    Aguero Ings Martinelli

    I’m going to hold it
Easy to get excited about Aguero after today
    But
The fear of rotation still looms large
And after a quick look at blanks etc 2 city could be a problem

    100% better option.

I’d play Fleck ahead of Martinelli.

I’ve my eye on Fleck for any future DGW’s.

In fact I’d nearly play Lundstram, Masuaku or Fleck ahead of Martinelli.

I think that's very true, a few thoughts are:

Aguero has form for back to back hatricks,
He looks sharper/leaner/fitter/hungry for goals today so that's a plus
It's easier to downgrade if goes wrong, than to be on the other side.

I WC in GW4 this season and went from low of 1.7m to up high of 20k over 8 GW's as team was set up nicely, then just had bad week after bad and fell to around 480k over another 8 weeks. I then decided to play a FH in GW20 when others might think was better time ahead, and jumped to 240k, and was very tempted to WC to that FH team, but didn't - and now fallen back to 430k.

Just looking at that FH team, had I WC to it I would have gotten 98 points this GW, as oppose to my 60.

I saw a poster saying that he was going to BB next week, the logic being you can then put more money into the starting team, and have a non playing keeper and maybe one other player. Would never have thought of that - but that's actually a very good reason to do it.

And I have already bench boosted .....don’t think I’ll decide tonight

    Activated.

    Gazzaniga, (Martin)

    TAA, Robertson, Lundy, (Creswell, Kelly)

    Mane, KDB, Mahrez, Martial, (Noble)

    Aguero, Ings, (Greenwood)

Might play around with it but plan is to BB GW24 with the 6 DGWers.
    11th starter tbc next week.

Similar enough to something I’ve ended up with. I was looking at Martial / Rashford last GW but with Liverpool next week I’ve decided on Richarlison over Martial. Richarlison type to go on a steak & if it goes wrong, I’ll revert to Martial.

I think you should look at a Brighton defender over Kelly if you can squeeze the extra .1m

Why Gazziniga ? They have been stink defensively
    Mainly Cos of him
You are at the mercy of pep rotation with not much on the bench to come in
You Might not be able to bench boost if Rudolph is signed and fit , Greenwood not a certain starter and some city boys rotated ........

I think Lloris is due back between the sticks soon enough for Spurs.

Cheers, currently 0.0 but I'll try to find it somewhere. Ya,.could.opt for Ricki, I've had Martial and Rashford the last while and they've been good to me. Dumping both was hard but worth considering.

Budget really, have him since Lloris got injured and they have been stink but the hope was the Jose would get them sorted defensively. McCarthy saves me 0.2 and the only other option really.

Will be keeping an eye on the WHU GK situation as well.

I can live with the Pep roulette, in fact, I want to get a bit of excitement back in the game. I've been playing sensible any floating around top 20k for most of the season. Time to take a few risks if I'm going to win the thing :)
