SF have exactly the same corporation tax policy and indeed supported lowering it in north when in coalition with the DUP!

They also supported public service cuts and welfare reform.

Granted the "far left" are outliers on both of these but tick all the other "liberal agenda" boxes.

I don't see how abortion or crime fits into a left or right spectrum.

Cuba is the exemplar for a lot of lefties and is anything but liberal on crime, gy rights and gender stuff/

(BTW, the report on the death of the Indian woman - sorry not going to try her surname and didn't know her so not going to use her first name - showed that it had nothing whatsoever to do with 8th.)

    Cuba are far left/communist.

Ireland like most of Western Europe is centre right/neo liberal fiscally.

The days of homogenous societies are over though. I was looking at a map that showed that virtually every country in Europe, not just the EU, has a non national population of around 10 to 15% (some higher).

Oh really, I'd advise you to compare Barnes to Luton in the UK. Or even Killiney with Balbriggan. It seems that you buy your way out of multiculturalism.

Also, I've lived in a eastern Europe (Latvia). Not much diversity there.

That's my point. The "left" is not actually left as it would have been understood 30 years ago. Not only is it not socialist, it doesn't even prioritise public services in the same way.

I know people in Sinn Féin who are low paying non union employers but put out gay pride flags and think they are left wing because they support abortion!

Absurd distortion of what left used to mean.

Indeed there is excellent book by Todd Gitlin who was leader of the 1960s Students for Democratic Society describing how identity politics in states has destroyed the old left notion of "the commons" which sought to build a democratic egalitarian politics blind to race and sexuality, whereas now the "left" parcels off and segregates groups with the enthusiasm of an old southern Democrat !

Left wing parties tend to promote high income taxes and bin/water charges.

    Except in Ireland.

I did what? That was the first time i posted in this thread, your complaining about people blanket stereotyping anyone with right wing opinions while doing exactly the same to anyone that disagrees with you.

Like i said you have no interest in debating or discussing anything, your only interest is projecting your own insecurities about your views onto others and hoping someone will validate you.
