Foster and Allen - my uncle Mike, is the best song ever made

    Skibberididdidlidididileda

The scene where Foster (or is it Allen?) is dancing in the back of a moving ass cart?
    Hard top that.

Shaving your face daily is a much bigger fashion statement than choosing not to shave but for some reason it is usually seen as the opposite.

A fashion statement is something original, something different from the norm, so shaving won't become a fashion statement until the majority of people don't shave.

Some facial hair is one thing, but the current craze for I-was-an-extra-in-Gettysburg style beards just looks daft to my eye. Not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not...

A sizeable portion of the Irish population see a fashion statement the same thing as a virtue signal

Social media is doing more harm to society than climate change.

If you're non-white (specifically African) you shouldn't bother dating here. Most Irish aren't attracted to non-whites. Doesn't mean they're racist (I'm all for preferences in dating) but I think it's a sobering reality that you need to be aware of your expectations when dating while black.

I'd have to disagree, I'm brown skinned and get approached by Irish women. Even though I am past the pulling age. If you come across as too eager or desperate then yes your chances are slim with the natives.

    Fcuk it.

Mental illness is a medical issue, not a social construct. Mental health is health, just a social construct. A socially acceptable fad.

People are incapable of comprehending that there is a difference between your mental health and being mentally ill. People conflate the two. Being conscious of your mental health would be the same as a person working on their fitness and physical health. Going to the gym and eating healthy would be the same as mindfulness and meditation. Preventative measures rather than using a cure. Being mentally ill is a diagnosis, there is no cure and it has a permanent effect on someone's life. Hearing and reading of peoples 'battle with demons' and their 'struggles' just seems rehearsed and is all the same to me. Am I out of touch or do people just turn to social media now to post a story or essay online, this isn't a "cry for help" to me

Posts on social media now are combusting of uneducated statements that are just their opinions, full of narcissistic, virtuous dregs spouting out the usual recreational support.

I'm not the only person that notices it but people don't say anything in case of being accused of God knows what or delegitimizes and person struggle

What does brown skinned mean though? It could range from African to olive skinned Southern European which appears exotic.

Are you masculine, tall? that might factor in.

When you say you get approached, do you mean in pubs and/or on the street

Not so. Every style you wear is a statement. Things that mark out your class, status profession, hobbies, wealth, quirks.

Shaved and not shaved are both statements (facial hair or otherwise).

I've no idea what your point is. Are you saying that people with a mental illness can never be cured? They don't have AIDS you know.

Mental illness doesn't exist; it's either a failure to adapt to society or symptoms of a physical illness.

Mexican/Cherokee, a half-breed heh.I am 6 foot wouldn't really call that being tall though. I don't go to pubs so the encounters I had were in places like Dunnes, the stables I used to work at, and a few times in diners.

    Elvis Presley is overrated.

Same with the Beatles, arctic monkeys, led zepplin, david bowie, Springsteen, foo fighters, rolling stones.

I wouldn't be so sure. The enormous US war crimes - from the extensive use of chemical weapons against civilians to a bombing campaign against civilians which in 3 years alone surpassed all the bombs dropped by all sides in WWII - against millions of people in Indochina in the 1960s and 1970s takes some beating. Admittedly, Mao and Stalin would beat it in numbers, and Pol Pot (who was greatly helped to power by the extraordinary number of US bombings in Cambodia) in crude savagery, but there aren't too many powers in history to equal the sophisticated savagery of the goliath that was the United States in Vietnam/Laos/Cambodia.

Fortunately for the United States, "war crimes" are something which are only carried out by their opponents.

Napalm and Agent Orange in the Vietnam War

    Secret war in Laos

That's not so much an unpopular opinion as much as just being completely wrong.

Are you honestly saying that schizonphrenia and bipolar disorder don't exist?

Shaving in order to mark out some of things above are identity marks, which aren't the same thing as fashion, but in any case, hobbies aren't fashion, quirks aren't fashion, preferring your chin to be smooth instead of hairy isn't a fashion. Not all preferences are fashion-related.
