Tell me Einstein you psychic mind reader, what about those black people who are sick of white millennials causing trouble in the name of black people.

Yes plenty of black people have spoken out due to the actions done in their name.

For the record, the very fact you associate black men with white women for the sole purpose of pornographic reasons says a lot more about what you are thinking. You seem to be well versed in the terminology in porn too.
Why does a black man only have to be with a white woman in porn ?

Seems to me you have some issues.

As for the protests most people are against violent protests, not peaceful ones, myself included, and yes I am happily married to a real woman.

Listen here, bub, I’m just putting out an “unpopular opinion” as per the thread title. Although, I would imagine it would only be “unpopular” on this site.

I suggest you stick up a few of your own instead of “ragging” on other people’s.

I see what you’re trying to “imply” there about the pornography and I can you that you are way off, way, way off.

I don’t “use” pornography like, say, you and your lot. No, I simply “enjoy” erotica. There’s a difference, a big difference.

Issues? I’m sure we all have issues but I, certainly, wouldn’t have any sexual “hand ups”, or anything like that. You might want to lay off “strangling the snake” though, you come across as an, incredibly, angry person.

Way too angry to be “happily married”, I’m not doubting that you’re married, it’s just that, maybe, there’s some “pent up” rage that’s been building for awhile now?

I can see you’re letting it out at the current “situation” but is that the healthiest outlet? I’d suggest a two week moratorium on the “hand to gland” combat and maybe some frank, and open, conversations with your partner about, maybe, working on that marital “intimacy”.

Would do you a world of good and maybe, just maybe, your view of the world, and certain people, might soften. Just might.

Anyway, unpopular opinions, have at it. Oh, and good luck, we’re all rooting for you.

Opinions are one thing, but your are not just giving your opinion, you are making accusations, are you incapable of comprehending the difference ?

That's all a bit rambling, Emmet, if I'm being honest with you. Were you on the cans?

I think there's a lot of men these days living their lives through the internet. It's obviously more pronounced as a result of the lockdown.

I do think there needs to be masculine hobbies that don't involve computer gaming, being outraged on Twitter, watching porn, lurid revenge fantasies etc etc.

Golf is a great sport to take up, and you don't need to be in shape to play it. Woodcraft is a great hobby I hear. Some hiking gets you out into nature for a few hours. Fishing seems to become a healthy obsession for those who try it.

Staring into a screen being angry isn't good. It's an endless stream of outrage designed to reinforce your biases.

Butter should never be used on a jam or marmalade sandwich or toast. The jam or marmalade should go straight onto the bread.

I will concede, though, that butter can be applied to a scone before putting jam on it. Never let it be said that I am not given to mercy on occasion.

I don't mean to pick on CF patients which is a terrible affliction but you brought it up.

There are about 900 CF sufferers in a country that has a population of 4.7m. This equates to roughly 0.0191% of the population.

So the entire country must be turned upside down, our children's education and future prospects messed up, entire swathes of the ecomomy screwed, thousands on the verge of being pushed into poverty for many years to come all so 900 people and perhaps a few thousand of the most frail of the and sick can be wrapped in cotton wool? Sorry not having it.

They can take their own isolating measures.

In fairness, there's a 35,000 post thread over four parts debating this very opinion:

I'm not wearing a face mask on the off chance that I pass someone on Coronavirus. If I feel sick, I'll avoid going to places, meeting people, but I'm not walking around with a mask on my face. We are human and facial expressions matter a lot in the way we communicate and engage with the world. I don't believe for one second the majority who do it have other people in mind. We just aren't that considerate.

I think Ireland has an inordinately high CF rate, which may be a part of the difference. It also has a very well mobilized and vocal CF advocacy movement.

Anyone I've ever spoken to with the fainest understanding of health economics privately criticises how such a tiny group has such influence over policy, based on emotion rather than facts. You'll never hear them say it in public though.

I, personally, believe that all the guys on here, and in general, who are vehemently against things like the BLM Movement, protests and, general, “furore” going on at the moment all “consume” vast amounts of pornography involving black men with white women. Vast amounts.

They also suffer from high levels of anger due to not being able to have a proper relationship with a “real” woman because their brains are just mush from years of watching this hardcore, mostly interracial, “gonzo” porno.

Sad really, there’s not a lot can be done for them at this “stage”. They just won’t stop pulling the stomach out of themselves.

I often think you are just a troll and fcuk me , that's fantastic. Bravo

I think gay people have been duped by the the alphabet soup lobby... How gay people have any connection to the letters near the rear of that anagram is mind boggling. Yet they all get lumped in together.

homosexuals and lesbians have been used to get the foot in the door for the social acceptance of all sorts of degeneracy.

I think it was a funny post well thought out, to get maximum reaction. And the real irony is that posters fell for it on the 'unpopular opinions' thread. Really well done, and ironic on a lot of levels. That poster knows how to play the game.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Is it an unpopular opinion to say that was world class trolling that really hit the target?

Bono is a sound man, and his harshest critics tend to be losers and arseholes with not an ounce of talent themselves.

Pop was a quality album. The problems with U2 started after that.

Sgt Peppers Lonely Heart Clubs Band is an all over the place album lots of filler songs, and I can't understand why it is rates so highly in top 100 lists.

No idea if he's a sound man as I don't know anything about him personally. But I think the people who criticised him when he campaignd for cancelling countries' debt, are bad eggs. People who took such a great thing and made it all about Bono being a dickhead, are bad eggs.

You see it a lot on Boards where people dismiss an entire issue bacause they dislike someone involved in pushing the issue - or go a step a step further and dislike the person for "making the campaign all about themself". Those people who can't separate the merit of a campaign from an individual involved in the campaign, were only looking for a socially acceptable way to oppose the campaign in the first place. If you keep an eye out, you'll see it in loads of places.

Bono did a lot of great work for a lot of people - far more then I'll ever do. And that stands whether he's a dickhead or not.

I have no issue with Bono. I think he is great actually.

I find people who don't like him are bitter little gombeen types with a huge chip on their shoulders who have never achieved anything in their life.

The worst thing about Bono is the eejits who insist it has to be entirely one way or another; either complete tosser or legend only criticised by bitter failures.

He made some great music, seems well-intentioned and he's probably sound; but the hypocritical combination of his grandstanding, tax arrangements and hobnobbing with autocrats and war mongers in the 2000s, when U2 also started putting out brutal albums, made him come off like an absolute spa.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,203 ✭✭✭partyguinness

I have always heard good things about Bono when dealing with fans and about.

Even my sister worked teaching in Dalkey for awhile and saw him many times. He was a regular walking along the beaches. Tourists and school kids would run up to him etc and he was always smiling and obliging. Generally couldnt have been nicer. Similar stories when out in restaurants and in the Morrison.

Consider him a prat or whatever but really you are just looking for something to bitch and moan about for the sake of it.

Your average worker in most societies, is tricked by society into believing that their hard work makes them a better person.

So the more they give of themselves into the daily grind, the more they exhaust themselves trying to work harder than the next pleb beside them... the more worthwhile they are as a person. The more balls you can juggle at once, the more impressive the clown you are! ;)

Bono is a sound man ....
    Wait a second; that's a bit harsh.
Just because he isn't a great singer, he shouldn't be relegated to the sound man of the group.
