    Hi everyone,

My 11.5 month old is generally agreat sleeper. I can pop her in her cot atbedtime and goes to sleep herself and will usually sleep a solid 11.5 hours at night. Very rarely any issues at night time.

However, lately during nap time she wakes up half way through, crying, and is clearly still so tired. She wont go back to sleep herself, and will only fall back asleep when i hold her. She goes into her cot for naps the same way as at night.

I'm guessing maybe its just separation anxiety which i dont mind and i dont mind holding her to help her go back to sleep. But im worried that her quality of sleep may not be as good as putting herself back to sleep and being in the habit of staying asleep? Any suggestions on how I can help her through this?

Is she teething, maybe? My fella goes through periods of this too, but it's usually when he's teething - he never usually wakes up crying otherwise. I usually just do whatever it takes to get him back to sleep. Most of the time shushing and rubbing his head works, but if he gets really hysterical I take him up and rock him. My two mottos when it comes to sleep are 'It's just a phase' and 'Do whatever it takes, for now'!

My daughter is 11.5 months too and she's started to wake and then sit up in her cot. SHe sometimes stands too and cant manage to get back down to a lying position to go back to sleep.
She's also teething so it's not a good time for her/us.
From what I've read, we just gotta get through it and she'll eventually learn to put herself back to sleep once the novelty of using her legs wears off!
