I have heard there is nice waterfalls and mountains in Waterford too though - Comeragh mts ?

    Hello,

I see you have two good ones chosen so far.

And while you're on route to the Hook head lighthouse, you also visit the loftus hall which will be on your right hand side. This is known for being a haunted house.
There is also Tintern Abbey which is located on the Hook peninsula.

    I'd also recommend the following:

-Dunbrody famine ship. Located in New Ross which youll pass through going to County Waterford

-Irish National Heritage Park. The Irish National Heritage Park is an open-air museum which tells the story of human settlement in Ireland from the Mesolithic period right up to the Norman Invasion in 1169.

-There is also a mountain range in Co. Wexford known as the Blackstairs Mountains, with Mount Leinster being the tallest, it's also where the river Slaney begins.

-Ladys Island Lake situated in Our Ladys Island.

-Vinegar Hill situated in Enniscorthy, great bit of history behind it.

-Another nice little spot would be Edenvale which can be a bit difficult for tourists to find, but when you do its well worth it.

-Duncannon Fort which is also close to Hook Lighthouse.

-Another place for a nice walk would be Kilmore Quay, its a busy quay with alot of active fishermen daily. Could also get a boat trip out to the saltee islands if interested enough. And I'd also recommend visiting the "Saltee Chipper" but be warned it can take a while (up to 40 minutes so go for your walk first) or a more cosy dining spot down there would be Mary Barrys.

And then after all that sight seeing in Wexford, and your looking for somewhere to get a drink or something to eat around the town, theres a few places that come to mind.

-Simon Lamberts Place, has excellent food and a wide range of craft beers
-Swan Bar, has live music every Friday, Saturday and now lately most Sundays. Has prob the best beer garden at the moment and sport always on the TV. Doesnt serve food tho.
-Crown bar, serves food up till 8 o'clock and is over 21 bar/nightclub. Live music Fridays and the occasional Sunday.
-The Stores, serves food until a certain time and on a Sunday morning they have a trad session. At night this is also a nightclub.
-Sky and the ground, a unique pub that doesnt serve food, but theres a pizza place across the road called crust that you get bring in and eat.
-Crust, a new food spot opened that focuses on pizzas.
-Charred, a new food spot opened that focuses on Burgers.

Theres plenty of more but they are the main ones that come to mind.

    Enjoy your stay.
