Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just for anybody else, it is right beside the main entrance into Connolly, to the right as you're walking in.

And the fee is €100, not to mention parking costs.
    Shamefull.

The fee is 100 euro everywhere, unless you have a medical card or a letter of referral from a doctor. Better than some of the private walk ins you can go to and I'm sure just as quick. Similar to the Smithfield Rapid Injury Unit attached to the Mater Hospital.

Parking costs though, they are disgraceful.

It's my Sisters 11 Month old child and she has a Medical card. I always thought it was free for children.

If she has a medical card she should not have been charged 100 euro. It's the same as a and e fees. Did she present the medical card to them when she arrived? If not she needs to ring them and give them the number and get it refunded.

If it is the under six gp card then it's not covered unless she got a referral letter from the doctor first.

If you need anything more complicated than an x-ray, you will be sent to one of the children’s hospitals. It might be worth phoning in advance to check if they can cope with your emergency.

They deal with fractures sprains minor burns issues such as vomitting diahhrea and mild asthma attacks.

I was sent on to another hospital with my child's fracture. They did not give me a copy of the x-ray to take to the second hospital. They cannot forward the x-ray digitally to the other hospitals. We had to waste time, energy and endure more waiting and pain undergoing a second x-ray. A bit of a nightmare really....

Jesus that's a bit of a shambles isn't it. What's the point of it if they can't forward the x-rays

With such restricted opening hours I'm not surprised.

I wouldnt use it even though it is a five minute drive away. I'd rather go straight to Crumlin

    1) the restricted opening hours
    2) only deal with very minor things, everything else it's off to Crumlin.
    3) queueing in Blanch, only then to be queueing in Crumlin is a waste of time.
    4) far more facilities and tests that can be performed in Crumlin not to mention experts in all sorts of medical fields.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

Hopefully I'll never have need to use it but I will if I need to. Only a few kids had to be transferred to the main hospitals. They can deal with fractures, sprains minor burns gastrointestinal issues such as vomitting and diahhrea etc.

It will be opening from 7am to 10pm 7 days a week eventually so will be handy.

The first part of the new children's hospital project opened in Blanchardstown (grounds of Connolly Hospital), did anyone hear about this?

From there website treats kids with things like
    • Sprains, strains and broken bones
    • Vomiting and diarrhoea
    • Minor burns and scalds
    • Fever in babies older than 12 weeks old
    • Small cuts and injuries
    • Mild asthma

Surely good news not having to make the trek into Temple Street
