    Hi,

Is there an app avilable to submit the meter readings?
Do you send reminders to submit meter readings before issuing bills?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

    Thanks for getting in touch.

For electricity, Electric Ireland does not send reminders to customers to submit meter-readings in advance of scheduled bills, because ESB Networks read the meters for four out of the six annual scheduled bills (so the customer does not have to) - provided that ESB Networks can access the meter.

Just wait until you receive the bill first, and check whether it is based on a reading or an estimate. If based on an estimate, then send in the reading to correct it. There is no app - the fastest way to have a meter-reading processed is by telephoning Customer Service on 1850 372 372 (available until 8pm Monday to Saturday), messaging us here on Social Media (available until 6pm Monday to Friday) or contacting the Chat team (available until 5pm Monday to Friday). All excluding public holidays.

For gas (if relevant) it is Gas Networks Ireland who read the meters - for three out of the six annual bills though. Otherwise, the same as the above applies.

ESB Networks and Gas Networks Ireland read the meters/calculate estimates for other energy billing companies also, along with Electric Ireland.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Una
