New TV 55"

Hi,

I am looking for a new TV, ideally a 50-55" screen - budget-wise, I wouldn't fancy going too much over 600.

It will only be used for streaming Netflix etc.

I have a soundbar, so audio quality doesn't matter. Currently I am using an 8 year old 720p TV.

Thank you for the post.  In that sort of price range I would be looking at the likes of the Samsung ue50ru7100  https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204061-samsung-ue50ru7100-50-inch-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-led-tv-tvplus.aspx

It features 4k with HDR and is a smart tv.  It will even give you tailored program recommendations based on your viewing history

Hi Funky,

thanks for the post and apologies for the delay getting back to you.

Generally I would recommend a the Philips over the RU7100 as I feel that the natural picture quality and motion control of the Philips are better - however if you are mainly using the smart features then I'd have to go down on the side of the Samsung as it does have a better smart platform.
