    Finally!

You've realised the thread you opened was misguided. I thought you might have got that at page one.

You seem to have missed where I pointed out this isn't the accepted safe food handling practice in other countries.

your call, I was quite enjoying this :)

You have made claims without evidence, not pointed anything out. Huge difference.

“HOW COME YOUR EMPLOYEES DONT WEAR GLOVES?”

We can tell you're serious about food safety, Julian. We are too. There are certain tasks that do require our staff to wear gloves and there are some that do not. For example, our crew wears gloves when preparing salads or when handling raw product. But on the prep line, where our burgers and sandwiches are prepared, our crew is not required to wear gloves. It not a requirement to wear gloves in Canada. What is a requirement is having procedures in place for safe food preparation and effective hand sanitation, which we have. There is some debate as to whether gloves are more effective than hand washing. Gloves can sometimes give us a false sense of security because gloves can get dirty or torn. We feel that hand washing is a more effective way to ensure food safety when performing certain tasks. All of our crew members are trained on when and how to properly wash their hands. In addition, our restaurants are routinely inspected by regional health departments for compliance, on top of our own internal checks.

There is also no legislation in the UK requiring gloves to be worn when handling food.

Do all your employees wear gloves when handling and preparing food?
McDonald's restaurant food handlers wash their hands with an antimicrobial soap at least every 30 minutes. Staff who serve or work in the dining area wash their hands at least every hour. We also have teams of employees serving customers and handling money that are separate from those preparing food. A system of colour-coded gloves is used to avoid bare hand contact with raw foods and to handle some ready-to-eat food items.

For what it's worth, I have worked in McDonald's and it is extremely hygiene focused with excellent results in contamination tests.

The people working in the kitchen are on stations. So the person touching the burgers and toppings only does that, another on buns and one more on the grill.

The fact that a deli counter worker is considered more hygienic as they have the same glove going from machine to food to till is just ridiculous. Delis are absolute filth compared to McD. While McD may not be the healthiest food out there, on hygiene they're up there with the best.

Its all that bacteria that makes it so yummy :D:D

You are more than likely exposing yourself to more bacteria than they have on their hands doing everyday tasks.
Do you ever clean your wallet?
Do you ever clean your phone?
Do you wash your hands after handling cold hard cash!!?
Did you ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?

McDonald’s customers should be allowed to inspect the kitchen and if wanted, ask for their food to be prepared with gloves... the customer is always right.

If the customer is always right then can the customer also demand that the staff sing the national anthem while they prepare the food?
