Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The expression itself, or any derivation of 'A cheeky Nando's'.

    A cheeky Volvic?

    I seen.

    I done.

    Reaching out.

Just saying - you've said it, adding this doesnt dilute whatever you said.

I was gifted this - as in it was given to me as a present/free of charge

    “No recession in their house”

Doesn’t exist anymore but there was a time this was widespread. I flagged a taxi once at a bus stop and old biddies said that about me.

    Thankfully this one died out

Which, the expression or the old biddy?

Most Instagram captions or soppy posts looking for attention.

    "I've had worse Mondays"

    "It's safe to say"

To say I was shocked/happy/surprised is an understatement.

Arghh "RTE" you've gone and said it. The pit of all things and language of the D4 PC Liberal movement.
I think it's their way of showing us plebs just how much better they are than us, strange then that they still rely on us for their living.
Following this thread has brought home to me just how much I've aged, I don't recognise half of the expressions. :)

'do you know that sort of a way'

I think some people have been hypnotized to repeat this after every sentence.

“Adulting” or any of those “I have the mind of a child” indicators.

I just don’t think they’re in any way funny.

    Divil the bit

    Absolutely enrages me beyond belief

I'm ok with this one on the basis that it's an anglicisation of a phrase that was originally in Irish. Divil a bit or Divil the bit (depending on the part of the country you're from) comes from Diabhal ar bith meaning nothing at all.

It was a thing in Irish to replace a negative with the word diabhal so it makes sense in that context. This one just happened to transfer over to English usage too.

Omg as well, something news organisations have adopted over the last couple of years when talking about the middle east or north korea etc: "tensions in the region".

    Every. Single. Time.
