Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Best of luck with it. I'd be interested in seeing how you get on with it.

Didn't get it today after. He has it on display in a hardware yard to try drum up a bit of interest and maybe get a few orders. No hassle with that. I'm in no mad rush yet for it

Be close enough. Not too bothered by the colour being exactly exact. Will be shiny silvery shortly with wear hopefully

    Check valve is important.

Best of luck with it. They’re a mighty job.

Meant to be basic but very reliable, were the earlier ones a little light on the axles or am I raving. Meant to be a good tractor from what i hear

I've never heard anything bad about them here but they're poor sellers in britain.
Supposed to be a cheap tractor secondhand over there which makes you wonder.

From my experience so far they're all cardboard tubes. The only plastic tubes I've come across so far are in valve plastic.

We've good experience of them. They're built light, meaning they're very easy on diesel but probably not up to real heavy haulage. Best tractors we've seen yet on soft ground. No major problems, just niggly bits - hand throttle cable breaking, fuses blown, etc. Overall would recommend them tbh.

Would the m5111 be able for a 1600 gallan tank on hilly ground

I'd say it would, we've a 128 that walks away grand with a 1600 but the M5111 is a tonne lighter.

Extra bit of weight is worth a lot with a full tanker on hills.

I have a kubota ME9000 which is 20hp less than the M5111 and she handles a 1600 belmac no bothers.

Put some sort of a cover on that wheel bearing or it could give trouble and the wheel could fall off. Even the bottom of a 2 litre 7up bottle would do as a temporary fix and tape it on.

Yeah I have a shiny stainless bearing cover on it now, it took a lot more persuasion than I expected to get it on. I think that photo is two years old now.

New toy for reseeding arrived last night. Won't be using on this tractor in fairness to the landini

We have a zetor 9641 at present the m5111 is a tonne lighter, I'm afraid it will feel very light

I'm thinking if getting a dumper for a self build. I have about a week of work with a lad with his own digger, and then about a month in and off with my own mini digger.
It might be better to buy than lease at about 500 p w. For a 6 tom machine.
    Any thoughts on this?
A 3 ton would be cheaper both ways, bud I'd be drawing all day with a 13t track machine loading the gravel bank into it.

    Any particular engines to
    watch out for?

Would you get a dump trailer hired in handier, assuming you have your own tractor? Two lads around here with him normally lads just call and work em themselves

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,993 ✭✭✭selectamatic

Any hope of using a tractor and dump trailer? That'd be your cheapest option if the site was at all suitable.

The old 6 tonne benford dumpers were a decent machine. 4x4, Perkins engine and shuttle box with 4 speeds. Terex bought them out about 10 or 15 years ago.

Engine wise the common issues on a lot of dumpers is the headgasket normally caused by the absolute lack of maintenance they receive.

    I've a 996 but it's half apart for restoring.
If I hired in a trailer tractor and driver it would prob work out more per week than the dumper.

Get a 9 tonne one if you can, makes all the difference to the amount of clay shifted.
You should be able to get one for 6 weeks at a far better rate than hiring for a few days.
