Last local Quinn machinery auction there I had a few pieces for sale.
The commission was taken off me not the buyer.
So say it made 900. 90 was taken off my 900 leaving me with 810.
Could be the same this time.

Commission rate of 5% plus 23% VAT applies to all items.
Did I read it wrong is the 23% charged on top of the hammer price or vat on the commission?

    Vat only on commission.
No vat on items unless stated there's a vat docket.

    E.g e10,000 bid. e500 com. e115 vat.
    Total e10,615 pay.

currently trying to buy a 20ft silage rake, after being halfway across the country looking at used ones that are basically bet to death from contract work.im starting to look at new ones.
have it down to 3 20ft machines
    massey ferguson 662 at 17000
    claas 2600 at 19500
    krone tc640 at 19000

sort of swaying towards the krone as it seems the best made machine and is the most compact..anyone have any recommendations?

You were thinking of it too? A brand new 2 tonne with lights and cover in farm services in Coolgreaney is €7500 including VAT. This one might be too dear with that info in mind.

    Congratulations!! :D

I had said a new one was €7500, but that was the 1 tonne model with no cover.
    A new 1600kg with cover is €8500.

I gave €5200. It is as new. It even still has the directional arrow stickers on the discs. Now I need to figure out how to use a disc spinner, I only ever had a wagtail.

18000 for the 390 thought she might have made more

I'm not sure what was on the 4355. They weren't real wide tyres anyway.
I was remarking if I did buy her I'd have to change the tyres and maybe the rims for here.
20k was my limit for it and the bidding never slowed so just stayed out of it.

I thought the 390 way overpriced. I would rather the 4355 at €25k than the 390 at €18k.

    I don't know.

Maybe someone sees it as a classic car for the future.
Or the family fought it out for a rememberance piece.
    Don't know.

I paid a smidgeon over 9 for my abbey.

There'll be a dribble bar no doubt going on the tanker.

paid 9k incl vat for a new m35 2.5 ton bogballe with cover last spring, the inflation the past year in machinery is frightening

The Massey Ferguson is a Fella rake. If you’re not going to be doing a massive amount of contracting with it there’d be nothing wrong with it but it wouldn’t be in the same league at all as the Krone or Claas. If you’ve to money to buy new I don’t think €2,000 is enough of a reduction relative to the Krone to persuade me to go for the MF. There would also be a much better trade in value on the Krone or Claas in a few years time of it was a machine you were going to update. .

As regards strength the Claas and Krone would be fairly equal and top of the pile over all other makes I’d say. The are both a lot wider on the road than the Fella/MF will be so depending on the roads you’re travelling this could be an issue. Some of the Claas rakes are 10 foot wide which is very wide on the road with the water cuts being an issue if you’re meeting someone on a narrow road.
