What phone and tablet do you have? Many of them don't allow acting as a USB host, so you can't transfer files to or from the USB key.

You would probably be better setting up something like Google Drive or Dropbox to allow you to download and upload files

Boardsie Enhancement Suite - a browser extension to make using Boards on desktop a better experience (includes full-width display, keyboard shortcuts, dark mode, and more). Now available through your browser's extension store.

    Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/addon/boardsie-enhancement-suite/

    Chrome/Edge/Opera: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/boardsie-enhancement-suit/bbgnmnfagihoohjkofdnofcfmkpdmmce

Thanks it's really that I need more storage on my laptop and was hoping to switch between my other devices, should I just go with a laptop usb key then, I have a hp stream 11?

Yes, just a USB key would be fine. Not USB-C though (it's a different port size, your laptop doesn't have it), just regular USB. Any of the options here are fine: https://www.mymemory.ie/memory/data-storage.html?cat=691.

You should probably get more than one if you have any remotely important files. USB keys and laptop hard-drives will fail. It's not a question of if, it's a question of when.

Ideally, you should have 3 copies of all files:
    • one on your laptop/main USB key
    • a backup on your secondary USB key
    • an offsite backup, usually in the cloud (Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive)
