You know it's funny, this morning I googled bondage*...and suddenly all this BDSM stuff comes up. Lol. That's compulsory gayness right there haha.

It's just disgusting what some people are into.

You must live a very sheltered life

She's an Italian-American from Washington State, not "Irish" as she's been claiming lately. Canada was where she got married, not in Dublin Castle following the referendum, as every Irish media outlet and even our National History Museum has been stating in blind regurgitation of her own self-aggrandising propaganda.

She holds Irish citizenship. Either Irish or British citizenship is required to be a Senator or TD.

BDSM is primarily a heterosexual activity. Google results are heavily biased towards your own browsing history.

When I was at college I befriended some of the Eastern European students. I think we were having a general chat about life at home and here and they said they were amazed at how open people were here about there sexuality and it would never be accepted where they were from. This would have being about 2011. The impression I got for them that it would have being similar to 1980's Ireland or worse. So, I would believe the article.

Eastern bloc countries are very much like that still, very underground - Czech Republic being the polar opposite, Hungary as well but not to the same degree but slightly different mentality there but not to the extremes of the likes of Poland et al

The upper two Baltic states are also fairly unlinked to rest in that regard. Estonia moreso than Latvia but neither resemble their other non-Scandi neighbours / near neighbours

the article has a point , the LGBT agenda is being pushed.
Once it was trendy media outlets that held up LGBT as being absolutely super but now this has invaded every aspect of Irish life.
It's not a case of tolerance and live and let live but a forced attitude of "you must like it"

If you think I'm a crank I wrote a post a while back about Gay Pride in the work place and how it's forced on us all in an effort to push this agenda even though there is no cause for this as any company I have worked for have policies in place to protect staff (see below)

We had a case where a barber in cork was found guilty of a transgression cos he wasn't au fait with the latest variant of the alphabet soup laws. A barber can't operate without being mindful of this ****e. A man cannot cut hair without having to accept this indoctrination... And a 5k fine..that is tyranny.

    https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/transgender-man-awarded-5000-after-haircut-refusal-at-barbershop-37159596.html

And of course we have another angle from the media a push on how great LGBT life is.
take this puff piece (pun not intended but it is funny though) feature of the Irish Gay Porn star on our daily rag which sadly is our mainstream.
Glamorising the virtues of being a porn star....like ffs...if this isn't propaganda I don't know what is.

    https://www.independent.ie/style/celebrity/celebrity-features/meet-the-29yearold-from-waterford-who-became-one-of-the-biggest-adult-film-stars-in-the-world-36806257.html

I never once saw a complimentary piece in mainstream media about porn stars but this lad is gay so it's cool.

This stuff is only pushed by a handful of LGBT and the main thrust is the usual white middle class Rathmines brigade. The vast majority of Irish people are totally fine with equality and tolerance (as proved by the referendum) but just want to live their lives in peace without this stuff being forced on them which it is.

My post on the work place.

I understand why people in the LGBT want or feel the need for Pride and that's cool.

    So what's my gripe....

I work in a bank, the bank has reasonable policies on discrimination and respecting others etc....which I agree with.

I go to work and create systems that allows the bank to function.
Why then does the bank need to decorate my office with rainbow flags and posters, spam my inbox with GO PRIDE style pep talk emails, invite us to a range of events during the week and more....?

Why? It's a bank. Is it too much for me to want to go to work , punch the clock and go home with my thinking of social matters being imposed upon?
Why does sexuality get such promotion in a bank , there are many noble campaigns , none get this coverage or close to it.

My workplace isn't alone ...I know it's happening in other companies like insurance companies and American multinationals eg, facebook, google

One such company (i've a friend there) has now a sign-up where you can pledge to be an LGBT ally and receive a special lanyard to wear "with pride" ( You can see what they did there??? ) around the office. The flip side of this is that it has created a culture where those without the lanyard are being asked why not?
Of course it's in an ever so polite and around about way...like "did you see the email on the lanyard" etc...

LGBT and their allies are a small section of society , why must their views be imposed on me at work. Christmas doesn't get such PR in my job.

I'm fairly neutral and happy to live and let live (on most matters) but this constant barrage at work makes me resent LGBT (the campaign rather than the individual people) a little.

I did ask at work and I got weird looks from HR and a bland meaningless reply about equality and diversity etc....
I think I am now guilty of wrong-think and possibly a second charge of using an outdated version of newspeak. in the eyes of HR.

Strikes me as a corporate **** off in virtue signalling
Yes I did say Virtue Signalling. happy?

Is it wrong of me to want to just go to work in peace. No campaigns , promotions of any kind?

This just sounds like incoherent whining to be honest. Have you actually done anything about it? Contacted HR in your workplace? Wrote your TD? Organised a protest on Facebook?

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

in your excitement to berate me you forgot to read my post.
the agenda is so strong you can't even read another argument without jumping in.
    pathetic.

I did. I just found it to be little more than a weak attempt to climb aboard the victimhood bandwagon.

Atheists may not like the idea of God, but Jesus is widely respected by every religion, Jews excluded, and most atheists, as a man who's ideas if followed would be good for all mankind.
Now this man with a message of Peace and acceptance get TWO days a year to celebrate his life, easter and christmas, Gay pride get a WHOLE MONTH.
Something does not add up with that.

Jesus, if he existed, probably was gay. He wanted to make his deciples fishers of men, told Them to leave their families and follow him around

if I was trying to climb aboard a bandwagon I would have thought it was glorious effort - it had everything a well worked argument with evidence provided with links to news article and a link back to previous boards post from a while back.
I don't know what more you could ask for in the context of an internet forum post... please tell.

What is really going on is that I suspect you just don't agree (which is fine) but in the absence of a rebuttal are just throwing out lazy tropes.

like "victimhood" wtf ? ****in hell that was some leap.

You posted a link where discrimination laws were enforced and a fluff piece from the Indo. Hardly glorious?

As for the rest, I simply don't believe it especially given the rhetoric you use such as "virtue signalling". Of all the places I've worked in the UK, including its most left wing university Pride barely got a mention in the staff newsletter if at all. That a minority wants to celebrate their identity, freedom and culture threaten you such that you respond like this says much IMO.

Well, you've dropped words like "tyranny" and "indoctrination" so I don't see it as much of a leap at all.

As soon as the economic affects of the no deal Brexit start to bite all these socialist pet projects ( promoting the LGBTQ+ agenda morning noon and night etc)will be dumped like the rubbish they are and reality will take over.
